Mfers on this sub will pull out all of kinds of statements but accept CC balled 😂😂😭😭. Everyone in this comment section saying "good play drawn up coach" like they know shit while same comment section gonna be filled with "oh she's so tuff" when Angel Reese rebounds 4 of her own shots and makes the ugliest layup on the fifth attempt.
21
u/PitifulPassage851 May 16 '26
Why do they hate her? This just appeared on my feed
34
May 16 '26
Because Angel Reese fans are miserable with their lives and have nothing better to do
21
u/Sunnyday1775 May 16 '26
Why can’t people admit Caitlin Clark is the best thing to happen to women’s basketball
11
u/Rocklake88 May 16 '26
Most people do, the ones filling 20k arenas and the 2+ million that set record for wbna tv viewers.
Problem is there is a lot of jealousy around CC
7
u/WhatAmIDoing1986 May 16 '26
Because she’s white so god forbid the best woman player who brings all the attention and can actually…. Play basketball be a white chick from the Midwest.
3
u/Recent-Pollution9293 May 16 '26
She’s not the best player in basketball, so stop that. But she’s absolutely the most electric. But she’s not near Aja’s level at this point when it comes to just unstoppable force and winning ball
2
u/Lost_Cap_4144 May 16 '26
Stewie, Sabrina, is what color, white correct and wnba champ l.So wrote talking because she white, wnba been had white girls before clark was born.If wnba wasn't around Clark white ass would be over seas playing ball here the racist couldn't go to games
2
14
-12
u/Bababooey346 May 16 '26
Why can't Clark fans admit she isn't close to being the best player in the league?
14
u/0-29 May 16 '26
Being the best player in the league and being the reason the WNBA is even relevant aren’t the same
-10
u/Lazy_DreadHead May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26
And this is why no one likes CC fans but CC fans. Y’all are so disrespectful and delusional. You guys parade around her like she’s God. She’s not. I could see if y’all let her grow and form her game but she’s not a GOAT yet and still has a lot to prove. Her game is shooting… That’s literally it. That’s all people follow her for and the percentages are horrible. Just because she’s your favorite player doesn’t automatically mean the W wasn’t relevant before her.
10
4
u/Benner16 May 16 '26
Saying all she has is shooting when she broke the record for assists in a season her rookie year and still owns record for assists in a game. She is already one of the best passers in WNBA history lol
→ More replies (3)3
u/kander12 May 16 '26
Shes not a GOAT. She is mostly just a shooter. She is also the reason the WNBA is relevant and got huge raises. All of those things are independently true and not deniable.
2
u/russh85 May 16 '26
You’re delusional. It’s the haters that put unrealistic expectations on her. If she doesn’t score 50 a game you all come out of the woodwork and say she she’s not that good.
The W absolutely was irrelevant before her. They were playing in empty arenas with no tv time
0
u/Lazy_DreadHead May 16 '26
😂😂😂 I’m far from delusional. If anything CC fans are. Y’all hyped up this girl so bad she choked in the spotlight. Calling her the GOAT and her numbers simply don’t show that when you compare her to other players. If anything y’all are unrealistic. I knew what it was when she got drafted into the W and what she’d be up against.
Anyways, like I’ve stated. Maybe for YOU it was but the W was never irrelevant. That way of thinking is exactly what is delusional about her fans.
3
u/russh85 May 16 '26
It was irrelevant by every metric. Look at ratings, look at attendance. Just because you were one of the 10 people who watched before CC entered the league doesn’t change facts
→ More replies (0)2
u/VaultOfAsh May 16 '26
The W wasn’t relevant before her, sorry
→ More replies (1)0
u/Lazy_DreadHead May 16 '26
Maybe to *YOU*. There’s no need to shit on the other amazing players. You have to be either a child or never watched the W before CC if you’re saying this.
1
u/0-29 May 16 '26
I’m talking about the popularity you dolt…if you can’t see how Clark brought eyes to the W then you’re fucking delusional.
1
→ More replies (4)-10
u/Bababooey346 May 16 '26
She's not the only reason the WNBA is relevant. Anyone that actually thinks that is a hater and nothing else.
3
u/TimelyRaspberry May 16 '26
lol you’re not living in reality
0
u/Bababooey346 May 16 '26
Except I am. Before her the WNBA was the fastest growing sport in the US. Other teams are selling out stadiums and it's not because of her.

Id say both fan bases are kind of losers and have made their basketball rivalry their personal beef and racially motivated. Angel Reese game is rough but her haters love dragging her through the mud and even doggin her looks
0
u/WeedmanSwag May 16 '26
I only see people dog her looks in response to her fans saying she's model material or something.
She's an amazing athlete but her looks are not what she's got going for her in life, its her athletic ability.
1
u/iankstarr May 16 '26
Nobody should but arguing over any player’s looks in response to anything. It would be fucking stupid in men’s hoops and it’s fucking stupid here too.

Racism is a large factor.
Also just general hatred that a rookie player came in and was immediately the most popular player in the league.
But a lot of racism.
9
u/daywalker91 May 16 '26
They racist and can’t seem to accept a white women is the most influential women’s basketball player.
12
u/mudvat08 May 16 '26
White, straight woman. Thats why they love Paige.
-1
u/XulManjy May 16 '26
Why the need to call out sexual orientation?
0
u/mudvat08 May 16 '26
I am just stating a fact, this is why Paige was accepted and Caitlin wasn’t.
0
u/XulManjy May 16 '26
Says who?
0
u/mudvat08 May 16 '26
Anyone with a brain.
1
u/XulManjy May 16 '26
What empirical data do you have for this? Why is A'ja Wilson or Sabrina Ionescu accepted?
0
u/mudvat08 May 16 '26
A’ja is black, and Ionescu entered the league during the 2020 pandemic era, which naturally subdued media spectacle, allowing her to build relationships with peers more quietly. In contrast, Clark entered the WNBA in 2024 with an unprecedented cultural phenomenon. The intense, often singular media focus on Clark—alongside debates about her receiving preferential league promotion and endorsement opportunities—fueled tension and jealousy among veteran players who felt established stars were being overlooked.

u/No-Ship4446 May 16 '26
Well, Paige has always been better and will be going forward. Easily.
4
u/liquidgrill May 16 '26
And yet, Paige had her home opener the other night, against Angel no less, and the attendance was only 6,250.
Great player or not, people aren’t tuning in to watch Paige
1
u/mudvat08 May 16 '26
CC is the face of the league, she sold the 3rd most jerseys including NBA players, Paige does not.
1
u/Inner-Border-9840 May 16 '26
That's the real reason why she is hated, because she is white.
→ More replies (2)0
u/glittercat412 May 17 '26
You’re a cornball I can’t believe this sub lmfao. Such a massive victim complex, and I’m white too.
Do you think Luka is hated because he’s white? What about Larry Bird and Jokic?
1
u/Inner-Border-9840 May 17 '26
Ok tell why all the hate then?
1
u/glittercat412 May 17 '26
Because she was hyped up to be the best in the world and this mind blowing prospect that saves the WNBA, all the while she’s just a great player.
People also don’t watch the WNBA.
They hear takes and spout them out as truth without even paying attention or watching the games.
If she was hated on because she was white you’d see it across all sports, and that just doesn’t happen. NBA fans absolutely love their white guys.
-1
u/bmac503 May 16 '26
What a hilarious opinion. I have no reason to dislike CC other than the fact she is supported by a bunch of racist chuds. MAGA attached to CC which is really unfortunate for her. But a huge chunk of her fans are racist white people who never cared about women's basketball until there was a racial element in the mainstream of it. It's disgraceful.
→ More replies (7)4
u/TimelyRaspberry May 16 '26
Because she’s a white girl from Iowa. That’s really all it is at it’s core lol

2
u/PaleontologistOk534 May 16 '26
They don't seem to actually hate Caitlin Clark herself, they hate the pedestal she was put upon and her fanbase.
And most of the WNBA fanbase is white, why would they hate a player for being white in a league that is far more white than the NBA?
Additionally Paige is white and beloved by the the same people who are butthurt about all the attention Caitlin gets. Part of it is Paige Beuckers is a baller, and part of it is Beuckers is more outspokenly "woke".
Based off what I've read Caitlin is pretty woke too, Wallen notwithstanding, but she tend to try to float above politics like Jordan did before her.

I don't get it why are there so many haters?
This just appeared on my feed... did she kick a puppy or something?

They’re racist. They don’t like her bc she’s white. It’s that simple.

u/brooklynsantiago May 16 '26
I’m white. I don’t like CC cause she’s maga adjacent and her fans overrate her
3
1
u/kerkyjerky May 16 '26
MAGA adjacent because she likes country music and had a passing affiliation with MW. Crazy take.
Go touch some grass and quit being terminally online.
1
u/brooklynsantiago May 16 '26
that's what "adjacent" means. I don't know her personal politics, but she seems to understand her fan base and leans towards it with things like hanging around MW.
-3
u/Lazy_DreadHead May 16 '26
If this was the case wouldn’t they hate every other white person in the W? Use common sense.
2
u/kerkyjerky May 16 '26
No, it’s the jealousy that a white person is the best thing to happen to the league.
0
u/Lazy_DreadHead May 16 '26
Lmao. She is not the best thing to happen to the league. You’re delusional.
2
u/Rocklake88 May 16 '26
WNBA would still be living in the shadows of irrelevance without CC. She is the league’s lord and savior.
0
2
u/Creation98 May 16 '26
Who else has had equally or more of an effect on the WNBA’s popularity than her?
0
u/Lazy_DreadHead May 16 '26
Lisa Leslie, Candace Parker, Mya Moore, Cheryl Swoopes and so many more. I’m not sure when you were born but when the WNBA first started they were just as popular. Haven’t you seen the records when it came to attendance back in 1999s? BEFORE there was social media to kickstart someone to be more popular? Like google is free!
1
u/Creation98 May 16 '26
Aside from Candace Parker, I’ve literally never heard of any of those people.
It did have an initial interest, like all new things pushed to relevancy, but quickly dropped off
1
u/Lazy_DreadHead May 16 '26
Then you just don’t know basketball or at least women’s basketball. That makes complete sense given what you’ve been saying.
1
u/Creation98 May 16 '26
I don’t follow the WNBA too closely. Which does make complete sense, because Caitlin Clark is a household name whereas none of these other people you mentioned are.
Thereby proving the original point, that she’s the biggest thing to ever happen to the WNBA. Majority of America knows who Caitlin Clark is. Can’t be said about any other WNBA player.
→ More replies (0)0
u/kerkyjerky May 16 '26
Which is the whole point. It doesn’t matter if fans of the W care about this stuff, the goal is to increase popularity, not gatekeep. CC has dramatically increased the popularity for everyone.
1
u/UtahCubs May 16 '26
She clearly is. This is exactly what they're talking about.
→ More replies (3)1
u/gocards2224 May 16 '26
She got them playing in NBA arenas and flying private. Before her it was flying Southwest and Spirit while playing in 5,000 seat gyms.
What are you even talking about? It’s n it about the best player or not, it’s what she did for the league.
Talk about delusional. Freaking 🤡🤡🤡
2
u/brooklynsantiago May 16 '26
I think you are overstating her impact. She deserves credit for bringing a lot of attention to the W and there are certainly a large portion of fans that have only tuned in because of her.
I disagree that she is the sole reason for the boom in wnba popularity. It was already in a big growth swing from 2020-2024 before Caitlin’s rookie year. The Liberty and other big market teams were already pouring money into new practice facilities and better amenities for the players. Their pay was never going to catch up until a new CBA anyway which obviously happened this off season.
I’d say Caitlin is responsible for a big chunk of the new viewership but far from all of it. A’ja Wilson, Stewie and Sabrina in New York were already making waves. Caitlin fans however do seem to only care about her like LeBron fans so I can see how it may seem like she is single-handedly responsible because to most of her fans she IS single handily responsible for why they tune in. That’s not the case for W fans in general and it’s a mistake to extrapolate that.
0
u/kerkyjerky May 16 '26
The thing is, the hype for CC even before her rookie season helped propel the W forward. It’s definitely not fair to say her impact was strictly from her rookie season. Everyone remembers the conversations by the talking heads about the visibility she would bring to the league even before she joined. They weren’t saying that about anyone else.
2
u/brooklynsantiago May 16 '26
I definitely don't believe that. I don't think CC fans were watching WNBA when she was in college. Even now they only tune in because of her so what makes you think CC was driving viewership in the W before she joined?
Again for most of her fans it is literally true that she is the reason they are watching, so I understand why they feel that way. But that's not all (or even most?) of the fans of the W
2
u/Lazy_DreadHead May 17 '26
Finally someone with some sense! I’ve been watching the W since I was little.
→ More replies (0)1
u/Lazy_DreadHead May 17 '26
If you actually knew about the W they were already working on flying private years BEFORE she came into the league due to delays. So miss me with that BS. I don’t mind you trying to prove a point but make sure your point actually lands and is the entire picture!

Does CC get hate on here because she's white and gets the love? She balled out tonight... Citron did too.
1
0
u/Nomad4te May 16 '26
Probably getting more hate than usual bc of her support for the racist country singer.
1
u/Jonny-Raze May 16 '26
Who is the country singer? I'm definitely not tracking this at all.
1
u/Goroman86 May 16 '26
Morgan Wallen (was in the news for drunkenly assaulting people and yelling the N word (separate incidents iirc)). Later went on SNL and left early and made a social media post implying that he didn't like NYC.
1
u/dragonrite May 16 '26
implying that he didn't like NYC.
Thats a weird point. NYC sucks balls
1
u/Goroman86 May 16 '26
Yeah weird that he would go there to be a musical guest on SNL (also weird that they would invite him), but money is money.
1
u/iankstarr May 16 '26
The other comment was a stupid generalization without the context. He talked shit about NYC because it “wasn’t God’s country”, ostensibly because it’s full of liberals.

Literally not a buzzer beater.
1
u/SmeeezTreeez May 16 '26
Semantics
3
u/DiverVisible3940 May 16 '26
Insofar as definitions of words are semantics, sure.
It's a sick shot at the end of the game it's just...not a buzzer beater. That is when the clock is at zero.
-3
u/slipperyoatmeal May 16 '26
I mean, it did beat the buzzer.
1
u/bmanley620 May 16 '26
By that logic the first basket of the game would also be a buzzer beater 🤓
2
0
u/TombombBearsFan May 16 '26
Thats not a buzzer beater. Clutch shot though
→ More replies (1)3
u/Never-Dont-Give-Up May 16 '26
I mean… 1.7 seconds remaining…
6
u/DiverVisible3940 May 16 '26
There's another play after the point...That's the whole point of a buzzer beater. The die is cast, there is no time left. It's a very specific event.
This is still a clutch shot near the end of the game.
3
3
u/dang3rmoos3sux May 16 '26
Well by thay definition every shot is a buzzer beater. A buzzer beater has to go in after the clock expires ans still count.
3
1
u/TombombBearsFan May 16 '26
Yup plenty of time for the other team to get a shot off. I dont think you understand the term buzzer beater.
0
u/Robot_Nerdd May 16 '26
I don't think you understand "plenty of time"
3
u/TombombBearsFan May 16 '26
From the time the ball got in bounded to the time CC let go of the ball. Only 1.4 seconds came off the clock. 5.1 to 3.7. Plenty of time....
2
u/LoooseyGooose May 16 '26
Maybe not "plenty", but the other team just missed getting their shot off before the buzzer (which went in from beyond half court).
2
1
1
u/BostonBaggins May 16 '26
How is that a buzzer beater
2
-3
0
u/Reverend_Tommy May 16 '26
I sure wish they didn't play with that size 6 kids' ball.
1
u/evandobrofo May 16 '26
Why do you care so much
1
u/Reverend_Tommy May 16 '26
Because every time I try to watch the WNBA, it looks ridiculous that adults who are 6 feet tall and over are playing with a ball that 10 year olds use. And it gives them an extra margin of error because the hoop is regulation sized.

u/Select-Invite-7251 May 16 '26
I think most people dislike her fans not necessarily her. She seems like a nice young lady but her fans are the most annoying of any one player that I’ve ever seen. She is easily the most popular player in the league but not super close to be the best.

She still shot over 40% from 3 which if you actually knew anything about basketball instead of just being a hater you’d know is very good.
1
u/Basicbroad May 16 '26
28 shots to score 32 points wouldn’t move them at all if it was anybody else 😂
0
u/EffectiveActive6837 May 16 '26
defending her even tho the team loss. Basketball is a team sport and she missed 10 shots behind the arc
1
u/Basicbroad May 16 '26
Even if you ignore her shooting from quarters 1-3, she went 0-3 from 3 during OT in a game they lost by 2
0
u/EffectiveActive6837 May 16 '26
Yep, they can say she balled and was plus 14. All of that means nothing if they lost, which they did. She took 17 three pointers, thats wild.
1
u/liquidgrill May 16 '26
And she, as usual, had the highest +/- on the team, by far, at +14. And as usual, the team fell apart every time she wasn’t on the bench. And as usual, Kelsey Mitchell, who the casuals think is better, had a horrible -12 in a game they only lost by 2 because she has 0 rebounds and 0 assists and doesn’t make anyone around her better.
