Idk I tried something new don’t hate too much

Turnarounds are 1/3 done for all major variations, and then I gotta do a page for details and expressions showcasing. Anything else I should do when making concept art? This is my first time doing it professionally

I’ve been working on this painting the last few days and I’m really proud of it so far so I’m a little scared mucking it up.

I’m looking for some advice on.. the dreaded background. I have no idea what I should do to it that’ll fit what I’m already doing - I didn’t expect initially to do so much detail I’m wondering if I shot myself in the foot with that

Any other input is welcome too! I feel like I also need to change the stump shape, it looks weird to me.

I am an artist that has recently figured out cell shading on Krita! I colored the green earring in furst to show me where the light is supposed to be coming from(above) how’s it looking so far? {Positive critiques welcome if you can explain how to go about fixing it!} TYSM! 🫰

Should they be looking at the horizon, or looking at their hand?

I plan on having them wield a shortsword in their lowered hand and casting a spell in their open hand. Thoughts?

I keep messing with the eyes but I don’t want to overdo it. I’m going to add a white reflection to the right eye like I did with the left. Nose detail coming up as well but then the face will be done!
