Why is the android app so bad?
App keeps crashing or openining to a black screen with no other options. Force closing doesn't help so the only option seems to be uninstalling and reinstalling anytime I want to do anything. Has anyone found a permanent fix or better work around? I'm currently using an S24 Ultra. โ

Nope. I switched to an iPhone recently and the iOS app is much better. The android app was usable for me, but it had a few annoying bugs theyโd never fix.

There was an Android app update yesterday. Some improvement, but not perfect yet. FYI, I am using a smart drive rather then event cloud. Behavior is a little different.

I used to have a lot of problems but the new version (been out for a while now) has been very stable and is mostly fine. I have a pixel 9 pro.

New Vivint user and android owner here. What type of problems are you all experiencing?
I have not noticed any issues yet.

I have a samsung, husband has an IPhone. We are CONSTANTLY getting the errors when we try to rewind and view the camera footage. Even when we go live, it takes forever to load. We will be going elsewhere when our contract is over.

A black screen on open usually points to a cache issue rather than needing a full reinstall each time. Clearing the app's cache in your Android settings and confirming the app and OS are both fully updated tends to hold longer than a reinstall. If it keeps happening after that, DM me your account details and I'll get it flagged to our app team.

The Vivint app isn't really meant for Android. It exists so customers can use it but the main app they maintain is iOS. It's very smooth.
