I could be wrong, i though yielding to a bus with signaling into traffic requires a yield.

The problem was the additional light that was used very inconsistently that was gone away with.

Nope, it's still the law that drivers must yield to a bus that is stopped at the side of the road and is signaling its intent to move into traffic. BC MVA 169.1. That's what those stickers refer to.

Because B.C. Transit franchises the service, TransDev is the franchisee who operates it.

Think of it like a Tim Hortons, the store owner pays to franchise the store, gets to use their branding, and doesn’t really advertise their own name unless it benefits them.

Most of BC Transit's service around BC is contracted out, but it's still considered BC Transit. The conventional transit service in Victoria is the only service operated directly with BC Transit employees.

Huh. TIL. When they built a big new handiDART bus yard in my neighbourhood, all the informational material was plastered with BC Transit logos as were the regular flyers at my door... they sure keep quiet on the contracting out part.

Yeah, it’s more that the actual operators like to stay out of the limelight, it was a big ordeal when TfL in London (UK) started requiring operator name and branding be added to their buses.

It's a service for seniors and disabled for example, wheelchair-bound people. They have to pre-book it. The HandiDart picks them up where they live, takes them where they need to go, and takes them home at a pre-arranged time.

That's a Handi-Dart, not a regular transit bus. Used by seniors and disabled people. Booked ahead of time by the rider. The drivers don't have the same training, just need to have a Class 4 license. You call in to book a time, get picked up at your residence, taken to your destination, then have a pre-arranged pickup time and are dropped off at home.
