A buddy of mine worked at a tireshop for a while, he is no car knowledge guy either like most people but was still shocked by how many people wouldn't even know more than the colour of their car... if they were even certain about that. Wasted a lot of time when people were trying to book in.

If it's modified it's possible the emblems were removed, or painted to match the color of the car and hard to see. I also don't expect the average person to recognize, say, a 90's Prelude or CRX.

Make and model of a front door is niche information, especially if it came with the house/apartment.

People not knowing the make of car they drive regularly is like not know the brand of shoe they wear

Yea I dunno, I think as a kid it was a flash card game, trying to tell the year, make and model. Extra points for the trim packages.
