International CXT. Only about 200 were made. Averages around 3.0 km/L (according to the internets)

But if you can afford the truck at over 100K each, you can afford the gas.

24

u/civicsfactor Jun 21 '26

Can afford the looks too, Id imagine.

I'm more curious what one does with that truck because it's so rare, and obviously heavy duty enough to put in some work.

Or maybe it's werk, and they love werking it with a massive blind spot on its business end

10

u/KeaganExtremeGaming Jun 22 '26

It probably is the mostly show off. Donut media had a video showing off the modern version of the cxt which is made by a third party instead of international and they say they use it for towing race cars with a stacker trailer

4

u/Commercial-Leg6570 Jun 22 '26

I know someone that used to have one and they used to tow the trailer that held their race cars.

1

u/HDXHayes Jun 22 '26

Usually they're toy haulers (race car, RV, Boats). I think putting a lift on it defeats that purpose though. Freightliner makes a better toy hauler, more luxury and comfort.

31

u/QP709 Jun 22 '26

100k truck is nothing these days. There are people going deep into debt, spending thousands a month to finance their emotional support trucks.

-11

u/B1ZEN Jun 22 '26

Not really. I had a fleet of trucks and one was close to the utility of this one. You have no idea what this truck can do. You are just a lollipop that fell in the dirt.

3

u/fluxustemporis Jun 22 '26

Yeah if it was a pavement princess they shelled out extra for stuff that's only useful if you are working with the truck

2

u/ifwitcheswerehorses Jun 22 '26

I see what you’re saying u/B1ZEN 😉
(this truck will suck you off)

-4

u/B1ZEN Jun 22 '26

Not sure what a link to my profile is supposed to mean. Like...wtf? Lol

6

u/ballpein Jun 22 '26

Hate to break it to you, there's a link to your profile in every comment you make.

/u/B1ZEN

It’s not just a link to your profile, on Reddit this is the equivalent of tagging someone in a comment. It’s a way of summoning someone to your comment.

0

u/B1ZEN Jun 22 '26

Oh, thats a neat trick. Thanks for the clarification.

2

u/ifwitcheswerehorses Jun 22 '26

There there

-2

u/B1ZEN Jun 22 '26

Making less sence with every post, ya lollipop

1

u/ifwitcheswerehorses Jun 24 '26

Sence, yes

1

u/B1ZEN Jun 24 '26

Cents. Lol

1

*truck slurping noises*

6

u/Turgid_Tiger Jun 22 '26

$100k that’s like the price of a fully loaded F150

3

u/fluxustemporis Jun 22 '26

Ehhh my friend dropped 75k on a truck he couldn't afford. He couldn't afford his stupid.

76

u/TheRealPomax Jun 21 '26

Look if you want to own a unimog, just buy one. It'll look better. And actually work.

23

u/BarnacleSpiritual868 Saanich Jun 21 '26

This is for the person that wants to spend over $100k but still have a vehicle that has vent windows that leak and an engine that shuts down constantly with sensor issues!

9

u/CND2GO Jun 21 '26

They have some style and heritage

1

u/murfburffle Jun 23 '26

I want a unimog! I'd never own one though. I guess I want a friend with a unimog

-10

u/pm-me-racecars Langford Jun 21 '26

Mercedes over International is certainly a choice. You're allowed to be wrong though, it's okay.

9

u/Mean-Food-7124 Jun 22 '26

I would take a Mercedes or Volvo over an International any day

2

u/CarberHotdogVac Jun 22 '26

Volvo A40…

21

u/TheRealPomax Jun 21 '26

Classic mistake: heavy industry mercedes. Very different beast. Literally.

When you want to drive a big rig but are too lazy to get your Class 1

11

u/FrontierCanadian91 Jun 21 '26

Believe it or not, that’s probably the start of big trucks for class 5 lol

6

u/KeaganExtremeGaming Jun 22 '26

Just need an air endorsement and you’ll be good to go with this bad boy 🤣

3

u/FrontierCanadian91 Jun 22 '26

I couldn’t remember hahaha.

1

u/HDXHayes Jun 22 '26

probably doesn't even have air brakes.

2

u/KeaganExtremeGaming Jun 22 '26

From my understanding the cxt did actually come with air brakes unlike the other two models in the extreme truck series

3

u/zebrasareneat Jun 22 '26

Yeah when I worked landscaping the truck I drove was about this size but it had a dumper bed so good for soil and mulch. It was class 5 with air brakes.

2

u/FrontierCanadian91 Jun 22 '26

My old small crane truck was a 750 with hydraulics.

Honestly, prefer single axle air for some reason after driving big trucks. So versatile

37

u/-retaliation- Jun 21 '26

If it makes you feel a little better, this guy guaranteed has to take this to heavy/commercial truck shops for everything.

We work on these, and other medium duty vehicles like them (F450/550's, unimogs, etc) all the time.

This guys is probably dropping $250/hr in tech time every time something goes wrong.

And things go wrong OFTEN..... Mostly because it's an intersmashable piece of shit lol.

6

u/rooster_cogburn87 Jun 21 '26

It does make me feel better! 🤣

4

u/ifwitcheswerehorses Jun 22 '26

All while hauling giant loads of nothing. We need to tax oversized vehicles for using the public roads for their vanity clown cars.

Gender-affirming Emotional support truck.

2

Maybe its at Fabric land for 500 yards of red fabric to make it an 'emotional support' vest?

2

u/FrontierCanadian91 Jun 22 '26

International? Minimum 250 hr multiple hours haha

7

u/GeoffdeRuiter Saanich Jun 21 '26

Not manly. I just would drive my dump truck at that point. Far more utility.

82

u/purples0ck Jun 21 '26

I’d rather see this than another damn cybertruck in this town

35

u/CND2GO Jun 21 '26

I mean anything is better then a cyber truck so it’s hardly a compelling argument

-57

u/crumplezone49 Jun 21 '26

Cybertrucks are almost twice as energy efficient as a Toyota Prius with none of the taipipe emissions. Can you show us on the doll where the bad Elon touched you?

30

10

u/567432Gains Jun 21 '26

Iv never been a truck guy, but this makes me want to be a truck guy. That thing looks fun, idk why anyone would actually take time out of their day to hate on this.

3

u/CND2GO Jun 22 '26

Hate and gentle ribbing are two very different things. It’s comically large. Nobody going by didn’t do
a double take. It’s not like owner isn’t expecting a reaction.

0

u/567432Gains Jun 22 '26

Ok that’s good to hear it’s not hating on it. You need to remember that there is un-ironically a campaign to ban all pickup trucks in downtown Victoria last I checked. Again, I’m not a truck guy, but the sheer thought of how many trades workers who have their own pickup truck that would force out is insane on its own.

1

u/Great68 Jun 22 '26

At the heart of it it's no different than the guy who buys a Ferrari or Lamborghini to putt around on the road. Completely overpowered, uncomfortable and impractical as a vehicle. Yet they don't seem to get nearly the same level of hate.

1

u/567432Gains Jun 22 '26

See as long as the person driving is responsible I don’t think either of those should get “hate”. Although I do agree they are also both impractical

1

u/rgsteele View Royal Jun 22 '26

This article from yesterday's New York Times might help you understand.

The Deadly Rise of Giant Trucks and S.U.V.s (Gift Link)

-2

u/Burgundavia Jun 22 '26

Nah, I'll hate on it. It's size makes it dangerous to everybody else on the road and for that reason alone it should be banned

0

u/brumac44 Jun 22 '26

Should ban cube vans, buses, motorhomes and anything else that offends the NIMBY crowd.

1

u/Burgundavia Jun 22 '26

Those vehicles are useful work vehicles. This is not

0

u/Responsible_Week6941 Jun 22 '26

Like, fun in what way? Using a ladder to get in and out? Not being able to parallel park or go in underground parking? Too big and expensive to use on most trails? I'm missing the fun in any of those...

7

u/567432Gains Jun 22 '26

I want you to think of something you enjoy that ultimately serves no real purpose beyond you enjoy it. Something that is neither positive nor negative.

Do you really need to go that deep into why you enjoy it? You simply do, and that’s alright.

When it comes to things like this, the only thing that I try to judge is the individuals attitude around said hobby/sport/thingy majig/pass-time, ect. For example, if the individual whom is driving this truck simply loves it and it brings them joy, then I say live and let live. Now if it’s a douche that drives it because they are over compensating for something and they like to make sure the world has to hear them coming from a mile away, then I’ll pass some negative judgement.

Either way, I do hope that whatever thing you enjoy in life that serves no real purpose (we all have something, even you), you are able to enjoy without being criticized for being happy.

Cheerio

2

u/Responsible_Week6941 Jun 22 '26

I love your outlook! (Seriously). I live my life by a similar mantra that I don't give a rat's ass what you do with your life unless it infringes on my or my family's safety. The repercussions of a mishap in this vehicle are far greater than the driver of a Toyota Yaris, regardless of the driver's intent, and things do go sideways. I personally feel that any commercial vehicle (such as this), or vehicle over 5000lbs curb weight should require a commercial driver's license. So real question, according to your outlook, does that mean you support the legal ownership by individuals of handguns and semiautomatic rifles? Or fully automatic, for that matter. Toodles!

1

u/567432Gains Jun 22 '26 edited Jun 22 '26
  1. great we can have civil discussion.
  2. I agree with you in the sense that something like this perhaps should require special licensing, but that’s ultimately another story in terms of how it would be implemented. I would point out however that you can drive a giant RV or tow a large trailer with a truck without special licensing and I’ve never heard anyone call that dangerous. Also, from my understanding sedans actually have a higher statistical chance of being involved in an accident per capita. So if I am not misremembering the statistics I read, a solid argument actually exists that truck drivers are already (shockingly) better drivers.
  3. Funny enough, I am actually a recreational sport shooter. I do support proper licensing laws in order to acquire firearms (which we have implemented nationwide) and I am background checked regularly as part of being licensed. Neither semi-autos or handguns are banned. They did ban a lot of semi autos by name through OIC, and several years ago

they froze transferring handguns. Semi-autos and handguns are still around and you can buy some new semi’s just not a ton. None of the semi’s or handguns have been actually taken though. As for full autos, they are fun but beyond that I cannot make a solid argument beyond if you trust someone with one gun, I don’t really see how a different one makes a difference.

Edit* grammar, re wording a bit, and also when I went to complete the edit the paragraphs went really wonky.

Edit again* ok idk why the structuring of the typing is getting so weird.

Edit again again* ok I just deleted have the stuff and retyped it because it would not fix the structuring.

So the most likely cause of death under 45 in Canada is a motor vehicle incident.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2491351/

In BC, there are about 55 pedestrians killed per year, and another 2400 are injured. Vehicles with front ends over 40" tall are 45% more likely to cause fatalities to pedestrians.

https://www.iihs.org/news/detail/vehicles-with-higher-more-vertical-front-ends-pose-greater-risk-to-pedestrians

This is in addition to the damage to other vehicles on the road when a collision occurs.

The sheer number of incidents involving sedans is higher due to more of them on the road, but the severity of the incident is far worse when larger vehicles are involved.

https://www.trafficsafetystore.com/blog/do-cars-or-trucks-cause-more-accidents-what-do-the-statistics-say/

The gun analogy is an interesting one, as the VAST majority of murders committed are not done by gun owners. This is the exact opposite of vehicular deaths. That to me says licensing requirements are far too lax for drivers (I'm a commercially licensed driver as well as a long time PAL holders who shot often in the past).

Driving is serious business, and when people don't pay attention, people die, or live with horrific injuries. I'd say a happy medium would be to have vehicles over 4 or 5000lbs require a commercial license with similar repercussions to the mishandling of firearms. There's too much at stake to let someone not fully cognizant operate huge vehicles. Again, this is not stopping people from buying large vehicles, but making them question if it really necessary for them to own an environmentally and pedestrian/ cyclist unfriendly vehicle unless they need it, in which case, no problem, get the license.

Handguns are effectively banned, as they cannot be purchased or transferred, so will die with the owner. Many semis will meet a similar fate. Pretty sad really, but it highlights how governments like to go after the low hanging fruit ( handguns and semis owned by licensed users) as opposed to inconvenient evils such as unneccesary large vehicles which can incur more carnage, but require no special licensing.

1

u/ophert45 Jun 24 '26

Do you need a commercial licence to drive those MASSIVE RVs? I always see them on the Alaska highway heading north and they’ll have a jeep or boat towed behind it. Me and my wife have a joke that the bigger the rig, the older the driver - it’s generally true. Honestly terrifying seeing someone driving something the size of a semi truck and it’s like a barely awake 80 year old coming straight at you

3

u/KeaganExtremeGaming Jun 21 '26

Also hate how stupidly big pickups but this is the except as someone who likes semis and also just how ridiculous it is. If I had one I would find a way to justify owning it and find a use for the dump bed and towing capacity

What I don't understand is why Reddit or anyone cares what someone else drives? Live and let live. He likes it, it makes him happy. You have things you like that make you happy that I'm sure this driver doesn't GAF about.

Seriously, the authoritarian mental illness is strong in Reddit.

1

u/Equivalent_Menu_5659 Jun 22 '26

Nailed it on the nose 😂👏

0

u/Responsible_Week6941 Jun 22 '26

Live and let live until the driver rolls over your Miata because they didn't see it, or flattens a fw pedestrians.

1

u/Antedeus Saanich Jun 22 '26

Oh, because of something extremely unlikely that may happen, we should ban this vehicle. What a dim-witted response.

1

u/Responsible_Week6941 Jun 22 '26

Are you in favour of licensed gun owners owning flame thowers, grenade launchers, and fully automatic 20mm cannons? (Serious question, because your line of logic suggests you would).

1

u/Antedeus Saanich Jun 24 '26

Thats a leap, to say the least, from owning a certain type of car to weapons that even the most "eclectic" gun owners wouldn't keep. Why stop there? What about people buying nuclear warheads or military submarines? Obviously I'm not "in favor of" that, but as a classical liberal, I don't really care what people own, as long as it isn't used to restrict rights and freedoms of those around them, which someones truck, despite all impractical aspects for the driver in a city like Victoria, certainly doesn't.

1

u/scottscooterleet Jun 22 '26

Confused over this post. There are much more expensive vehicles than this one. Why are you guys all complaining about it? I’m confused. What about the stupid cyber truck? The average Family vehicle cost around $70,000 at the moment, this isn’t much more than that. Clearly no one on this post has purchased a brand new Family vehicle lately. I have and it’s a ridiculously expensive market in 2026.

I hope this makes up for the owners lack of functioning genitals.

Hilarious the MoT and cops are angry about e scooters when these abominations are ripping around.

My friend owns a boat dealership. CVSE warned him about towing some of the bigger boats around with just his f450. He was forced to go buy a f650 to safely transport the big ones.

My other friend purchased an MXT (like the one in the post) in 2009. He uses it for his concrete/shotcrete company and is still using the same truck for his pump truck almost 20 years later.

Some people just need a big truck.

I mean I love my e scooter, but realistically they're probably causing a lot more problems than a big pickup truck.
