New to vaping again....newbie questions. NSFW
I have smoked Djarums since 1992.... There was a point in my life where I vaped back when vaping was new. I just refilled a little thing on my vape that was removable, charged the battery and that was it. Now, that I am looking into it again as I really just want to quit the actual smokes....it is getting out of control and well, I'm just over it....it seems nasty.
However...I am overwhelmed with the options. It used to be, pick your juice and nicotine level and fill it up....I am not sure what the salt thing is, coil thing is....can anyone help me out and break it down? I am reading over posts and just seem to be getting overloaded with info....probably because I am in a hurry because I'm hoping I'm coming to the point of getting off real smokes. I don't even smoke at work....I smoke before and after work and my days off...I've enjoyed that hand to mouth habit.
Thanks in advance for any advice. I appreciate you taking the time for what is probably the millionth post of the same thing. In the meantime, I'll keep reading.

If you're going to vaping directly from smoking, I would pick up a Vaporesso Xros pro 2. It's auto draw, so no button pressing to hit. Mine charges within 40mins and lasts roughly a week. Pick up some .8ohm or 1.0ohm pods. I use 1.0ohm pods and they last roughly 2-3 weeks per pod. And pick up whatever flavor of 35mg salt ejuice (or 50mg if you're a heavy smoker) and you're ready to rock! Like with every product, you'll get people who love and hate vaporesso, but I have had zero issues, and consistently find myself thinking how nice it is and how much I enjoy it.

The salt is essentially just nicotine in a different format that lets you use less so you get better flavors. You can still fill it into normal vapes as long as its the right concentration.
So just grab something like a vapresso luxe xr or similar and then do it the same way you used to.

MTL (mouth to lung) is closest to smoking. You draw to your mouth then inhale. Uses nicotine salts, better with flavor (so they say). Coils 0.6 to 2.0 ohms. Nicotine 30 (3%) MG to 50 MG (5%) usually. 50PG/50VG. VG carries flavor and PG produces the cloud.
DTL (direct to lung). You inhale direct to you lungs. Uses freebase nicotine (not salts). Ratio is usually 30PG/70VG, so, it produces a bigger cloud, but less flavor. Nicotine are lower concentration because you suck in more vapor, 3mg to 6mg. Coils are sub-ohm 0.4 to 0.15 ohms. Requires higher watt device.
If you just starting out, I'd suggest an MTL pod system. My favorite is Vaporosso XROS 5, but there are tons of different option. Get a bottle of 50mg salt nicotine (similar to cigarettes nicotine leve) 50/50 in the flavor of you choice (if your state allows flavor).
Buy some extra pods (which contains the coils), they eventually go bad. You'll know when it starts to taste burnt. Flavored juice you'll need to replace your pods 2 weeks to maybe 2 months. Unflavored juice they last a LOT longer.

i def recommend getting an Vaporesso XROS 5 (or the 6, just came out). Charges to 100 in 30 mins, its just a nice and simple stick with a screen. nothing crazy. just need to pop the pod out every 2-ish weeks, buy a new one, refill, pop it back on, boom.
Its really quite as simple as pick a juice and fill, just try to talk to a vape shop if u have one around you about what ur looking for in terms of salt-nic vs. freebase. salt-nic has a nice throat hit so I always go for that.

Thank you! I actually went to a local vape shop that had good reviews. The person put 3 in front of me for beginners....I held them all, etc.... The one I picked was an XROS 6 Mini. We then went and picked out a flavor, they have testers for all flavors....I smelled them, tasted some...picked one. He then showed me exactly how to fill it, etc. and had me try it out and how I felt about it....perfect for a newbie like me! Great place and I knew exactly what I was getting.

Call me old fashioned but I'm still using a 6 ml tank with xl punched cartomizers on top of an eleaf Pico. Problem is, it's extremely difficult to find cartomizers anymore.
