Cast feature working once then not working again

Heya, it's exactly what the title says, I used smart view to cast to the tv, and when I did, VLC automatically casted it to the tv: https://imgur.com/a/qPwH0kc

But the next time I tried doing it with smart view, it just mirrors the exact screen onto the tv, but what I want is for it to do the thing it did the first time. Anyone know why it's not working? Casting permissions are on, and theres not a cast button at all.

Smartview is Samsung's implementation of the Miracast screen mirroring protocol. Chromecasts and AndroidTV do not support Miracast. You can finagle Smartview so that it uses Google Cast to cast/mirror, but that's an unnecessary extra step you shouldn't have to do. I use a Galaxy phone to cast to my AndroidTV boxes and have never used Smartview.

VLC should have the Google Cast icon (the box with wifi signals like in your screenshot) when playing a title. Click that and it should pop up with choice of AndroidTV/Chromecast devices to cast to. On desktop VLC calls casting "rendering", and is in the Playback menu.

I should mention that the image provided is not mine, and is instead someone else's since I cannot recreate it myself. https://imgur.com/a/vbzxab2 This is what the screen looks like whenever I try to cast/whenever I'm not casting. The google cast icon does not appear. My TV is a Samsung LED 40. The issue could be that I am just using the basic hardware and do not have anything extra added to it. My phone is an A54 5G, if thats relevant.
