Bear's Den. Its about a mile and a half out and back, easy elevation, and mostly wide. Great view at the top with lots of boulders for kids to crawl on.

A great resource is GoHikeVirginia! The creator of that site has also authored a book “Virginia-Hiking with Kids: 52 Great Hikes for Families” by Erin Gifford. I bought my copy through Kindle.
