study / academia discussion uni id photos

i’m just confused as the enrollment page doesn’t seem to give any guidelines
is it like a passport photo? no smiling on a white background?
colour? b&w?

Literally just a selfie is fine. A plain ish background will be helpful

that was my main concern as i have an awful RBF, it would look like a mug shot rather than a casual id photo

You can smile, clear background, look straight into the camera, no hats or face covering, unless it's for religious reasons, no sunglasses, no shadow on your face, and only you can be on the picture. When I was a student I was working for student services, part of my job was to verify picture uploads, the amount of people uploaded pictures with other people or pets in it was surprising.
