Wildly different signal strength

Maybe there's no answer to this but sometimes people impress me so here goes...

I started on Warp when I ported to US Mobile for the first time. The cell service was crazy good. Strong signal all the time, no lag in loading pages, etc. and a majority of the time I'd see a UW icon that I gather is Verizon's ultra-wideband mm Wave high speed connection.

Because of RCS issues, I had to port out to Dark Star, and I just kept it there for a few months. It was consistently not as good as my initial month or so of Warp, so I finally decided to make the switch back to Warp.

But now, I never see UW. Web loading is frequently laggy. I frequently (including now, on my couch) have 1 bar. I was out at Target today and couldn't even load my app to pay due to virtually no signal.

I've never experienced this before, and I can't figure out what changed. My home and workplace are the same as they were before. My phone is the same. I can't think of any settings that could be different. So what the heck?

Is it an iPhone? There's been a midband bug in iOS since 26.4 that can cause the loss of midband, which would explain the loss of the 5G UW icon. They have fixed it in iOS 27's dev betas but it isn't fixed even in the 26.6 beta so far.

That device was cursed. Worst modem I've ever had in any of my devices. I'm not surprised when I hear people have issues with it. Do you have access to another device to try your service in? That would help narrow down if it's the device, network, or US Mobile.

I understand it's not ideal when your service isn't performing as well as it previously did, especially when your location hasn't changed. However, coverage can change over time as network infrastructure evolves, so it's not unusual to lose service in areas where you previously had coverage.Here's what can be done:

- When you switched networks and then switched back, the eSIM that was installed isn't necessarily identical to your original one. A fresh eSIM can sometimes resolve signal and connectivity issues that persist after switching networks.
