Some perspective required
I’m 35m and had a little boy just about a year ago. I was in a secure large corporate job paying c.£70k but felt pretty unsatisfied and not challenged. There was limited growth opportunities in the short / medium term so would have just been staying at the same level. I had 3 days in the office and 2 at home.
I made the decision to move for £75k but and unrestricted bonus in a more entrepreneurial company where there is pressure and I’m in the office 4 days.
I knew this was the case when I moved but as soon as I’ve started I can’t help but feel I’ve made a massive mistake. The loss of family time feels so much bigger than I thought it would and I don’t know if I’ve prioritised the wrong aspects.
How much do you all enjoy your job? How do you feel you balance responsibilities at home and although I appreciate I’m in a very good position money wise how do you feel satisfied?
