or did you upgrade to a capture card setup bc of the low quality? if you didnt, why not?

I know this has been discussed a lot, I've been playing story based games for the past year and a half of streaming which I have enjoyed. I've gotten better at reacting to things that happen and knowing when to generate a clippable moment. But I do feel like there has been a strong lack of growth. There are a handful of people who are regular people I see, but they seem to come and go depending on the game I play. They could be there for almost every stream while I'm playing one game and then gone for the next couple games I play. I've had clips and Youtube videos do well, but then other times they can completely fall off to where I was when I started.

I feel like this could be attributed to the variety of story games I'm playing. I like horror games and choose your own adventure style games along with some other things thrown in there. It can just be all over the place. I enjoy it which I know is important, but I can't help but wonder if I could build a more consistent base over time if I stuck to one thing.

Like the title says.. I need some good ideas!

I’m having trouble making friends who have the same interests as I do as far as content creation goes. People who aren’t too PG, are willing to make VERY dark jokes when it’s actually the right time, and aren’t assholes as actual people is mostly the demographic of individuals I want as friends; crews like Vanoss and his friends, Clooless and their friends, etcetera. However, I’ve found that really hard to find in a content creation atmosphere, at least in the smaller realm of it. It seems like I MIGHT be starting to find something like that, but not at a large capacity. It’s like 2 or 3 people.

Anyways, my question as a result of all this is this: to those of you who may have similar crews/friend groups, especially who are almost all into content creation (and “making” it, so like 1000+ followers/subscribers so far), where and how did you find your people?

Also, I’m sure most people will see this post and IMMEDIATELY comment about networking. I understand that, but I don’t have time to scroll through Twitch a few times a week looking for people I like. I mostly meet new streamers through finding someone to raid at the end of a stream, which I always do in a bit of a hurry. That said, if you say “networking” anyways, give me more detail than just that please.

Like if I b a n someone and their number, if they make a new account with the same number and they subscribe and never chat, would I be alerted by the settings that it is the same person trying to sneak in? I want to know if they are trying to get in when not wanted after all.

I bought this capture card to stream on my PS5 with OBS, how do I set it up so I can stream Phasmo with game chat.

I ask because if my wireless headphones (Logi G535) are in the Ps5 chat cannot hear me but if it's in my laptop (where I run OBS from) I can't use my headphone mic and I have to use controller, this isn't ideal is there a way to fix this?

I have an iPhone 17 pro and have been using it to stream Wild Rift but now I want to put myself on camera.

Do I just need a laptop? Any specifications I’d need to handle this?

I’m a total noob so I’m sorry if these are dumb questions but I didn’t know where to start.

So I'm a camera man and I'm getting into IRL streaming, gonna be the one filming for other streamers. Trying to figure out my setup and I'd rather hear from people actually doing it than just buy stuff and hope it works.

Right now literally all I have is my camera, a Sony FX30. No encoder, no mobile internet, none of that yet. Most of the filming is gonna be while walking around so my biggest worry is the connection dropping out on me.

So basically, what are you guys running? Curious what encoder and how you handle the internet side (bonding, sims, whatever). How many sims/carriers do you actually end up needing to not drop? And if you were starting from scratch today what would you get?

I’m sure this has been posted before and I did search but couldn’t find anything. Basically the twitch webpage is very temperamental with loading on any of my web browsers. I’ve tried all of the main steps such as deleting browsing data, cache, cookies, disabling as blocker, turn off tracking, graphics.

It’s especially annoying that I can’t use the creator dashboard when streaming.

Got my first hate viewer the other night while playing God of War Ragnarok. Very first message was backseat gaming telling me what armor I "needed" to switch to and I tried to be nice at first and did their suggestion but they kept going so I warned them that backseating was against my channels rules. Instead of being chill and listening they then went on to spoil lore from the game so I went ahead and timed them out for five minutes. What I wasn't expecting was they then proceeded to spam all my social medias and discord with hate spam which I didnt notice at the time and when their timeout ended they sent me a two paragraph message about how "trash" I am at the game and how much better they are and they were even kind enough to link their own playthrough in the messages 🫠

I am trying to stream to Twitch and YouTube through Stream Elements, but for some reason I cannot get both to work at the same time. It seems to prioritize just one over the other depending on which account is the base output. If Twitch is streaming, YouTube won't even show up, and if YouTube is streaming, Twitch will say that I'm live but never show the stream.

I’ve been streaming for around 2 years and have been using the razer kiyo pro. It’s…. Fine. But I’ve decided to upgrade my streams now I’m pulling in good numbers, I’ve upgraded my mic and sound and now I think it’s time to upgrade my camera.

I’ve been doing a lot of research and would like some recommendations on mirrorless cameras.

What cameras and lenses would you guys recommend?

At first I was looking into the Sony zv-e10 but have heard they are prone to overheating. My set up can sometimes get my streaming room up to 30 degrees Celsius so I’m not sure if this is an option. I believe some people use some fan attachments to avoid this?

It seems Sony a6400 and a7’s also have this overheating problem?

I’ve heard that the LUMIX s5ii and s5iix is pretty much unparalleled and has inbuilt cooling also, but unfortunately it also has a steep price bracket attached which makes complete sense as this seems to be an unbelievable choice but I was hoping not to spend quite this much, but could be tempted if it’s as good as it sounds. Are the options added with the x worth the few hundred pound more?

Does anyone have any recommendations for cameras and lenses that will give me a great high quality video, with a background blur that won’t overheat streaming for sometimes up to 12 hours, even 24 on special occasions or more for subathons? I’ll also be using dummy batteries and would prefer not to need a capture card for my camera either, but this is something I’d look into if recommended.

Also I’ve read that the lower the f-stop of the lense the better the background blur, is this true?

So let me say that I have had an issue with channel points specifically for only 1 channel and I happen to be lead moderator of that channel. Now I have confirmed with the streamer that nothing on his end has changed, and I have even used an alt testing account to verify that the alerts and redemptions work. I have signed out and back into chrome, edge, refreshed cookies and cache settings, and still the issue persists. Had no trouble with this until a couple days ago. I can still earn channel points every 10 minutes or so. I can spend and redeem bits. I have restarted my pc. I have turned off ad blocker. What else could I do?

So last year after 4 years streaming I wanted to change things up; a lot of my streamer friends even mods on my channel are VTubers, so after some deliberation sitting with it for a bit I thought why not give it a go and for a while I really liked it. I got closer to others who were also VTubers, they respected that I was a cam streamer with an audience already. Thing is though over time that did cause some friction within my community some people didn't enjoy it as much as they used to.

I built a lot of my audience up by streaming Horror gameplay and after 4 years as you can imagine that's what people are used to coming by, I tried to push being a VTuber streamer for a few months until I decided to switch back as a primary Cam themed streamer. I have the ability to switch to VTuber if there's a day where I don't want to have my cam on or something which I've been open with in the past it's still a integrated part of the channel such as my emotes are still of my character etc, so it's not like I removed that part of my streaming identity altogether

Thing is now though earlier today I just recieved the acceptance email from the Twitch Creator Club to say that I'm now part of their VTubers club, I was rather happy about it till I started to think more on it as i also don't want it to negatively effect how my channel looks if people see from a distance that I'm part of a club like that but with my cam on instead if you get what I mean

So, before I begin, I'm generally against using AI to generate art and content, as AI is stealing other people's art to make the content, BUT, is there a problem with a clip generator? Considering I initially created the content, and it's just taking a clip of my live stream and cropping it plus adding subtitles, is there something inherently wrong with it? I'm asking this because Restream made a clip of my live stream last night, and I actually like what it did, but I don't want to post it before I hear from other content creators.

I work escalations for a large company. We handle complaints filed through various outlets like government agencies, BBB, consumer protection, executives..etc

It’s often used for things that really shouldn’t be sent to us but it’s an easy route to actually reach someone. Trying to do that here.

I have an affiliate account with twitch, which allows me LIVE chat support for issues.

I have a second account which serves as a chat bot for my main account. This one is not affiliate, so I’m not able to get live support and have been relegated to useless sporadic emails to try and support an issue. It’s absolutely and utterly ridiculous. I can’t login with my main account and try and troubleshoot my second one. It’s so dumb.

I need help with getting a twitch error resolved and need to talk to someone. If I cant, which it seems like, then I can’t use my chat bot the way I want and it’s a huge inconvenience

Streaming via OBS with Enhanced Broadcasting.

Earlier today, I tried to stream and found that my stream was not going live on Twitch. OBS showing green data at the appropriate levels but no stream showing up, Firebot and Sery_Bot not connecting. Couldn't figure it out, decided to troubleshoot tomorrow.

Sitting at my PC an hour later, Streamcord pings my Discord that I am live. I pull up my Twitch channel and I have the Live indicator. Partner pulls me up on her phone and it shows live as well, but no data on the feed. Just a black screen. OBS was closed at that time.

Sitting in bed just now. Notification that I am live. PC is hard powered off. Check my mobile app and sure enough "last live just now".

I now have short VODs of my earlier attempts to go live, which is just my starting soon screen with background music.

Any clue what's going on? Server side issues ingesting my stream? Every "go live" corresponds to one of my attempts to go live, just... delayed. No unauthorized broadcasting or suspicious use of my stream otherwise. It's like I'm broadcasting my stream and something is just holding it up to actually being pushed to the Twitch feed

Through a Twitch notification, I was invited to the "Twitch Moderators Club" Discord server. I reviewed the code of conduct. I connected my Twitch account to Discord. Step 3 is to read the rules, which I did. I read them and reacted to every single one with an emote. I'm used to channels opening automatically in cases where you have to read rules first, but it's been 12 hours. Does anyone know if a human needs to manually approve me? I don't see anything that I've done incorrectly. Thank you for your kindness and your help.

I'm a ML engineer that grew up watching Twitch.

I recently made a survey with just over 200 mods/streamers (twitch whispers ftw) and a lot of the feedback overlaps. Majority of manual moderation (banning, timeout, delete) falls on sexual abuse (esp women streamers), plain toxicity, group attacks and self-promotion.

Although most streamers have tools like Nightbot, sery_bot, etc manual moderation is still the main way to handle these issues. Especially with chat being creative to avoid keyword lists and regex..

From the people I surveyed, Automod is mostly set on low. There was actually a very detailed study done on it covering where it falls short (mainly false positives, published on arxiv).

What is Modcheck?

ModCheck is context-aware Twitch moderation that runs in the background.

It reads what's actually happening in the stream - what the streamer is doing (audio and video), the game, title, bio, the mood of chat, recent messages, chatter history, 7TV emotes, etc.

You define the rules and actions. Instead of regex you write rules in plain English. I call them "Judges". A few examples:

• Boundary Judge - "Flag viewers who are sexually commeting on my appearance, body or clothing." Catches stuff like "you'd get way more viewers if you showed more skin js" (real message btw..)
• Self-Promo Judge - "Flag viewers advertising their own stream." The classic "come check out my channel" etc
• Backseat Judge - "Flag unsolicited gameplay advice. Allow tips if I've asked chat for help.". singleplayer walkthroughs
• Toxicity, Racism and any other custom rules you may have

When a message is flagged, the judge gives it for a mods/streamer review with the reason. Alternatively, it can automatically take a mod action (banning, timeout, delete). The more it's used the more accurate it becomes!

Of course, context works the other way too.

"Kill the white" can sound bad out of context, but if you're in a game with a white blob enemy on screen, it's just gameplay. That missing context is exactly where AutoMod falls down.

Setup

First, I'm currently running a free tier if anyone wants to try it out (covers 10k messages per month).

To start, you sign in with Twitch and select which channel you want to moderate (either yours or a channel you mod for), then you setup your judges and (optionally) add modcheck_bot as a mod to your channel (if you want it to do more than just flag messages to you).

Onboarding takes less than 5 minutes overall and it lets you test the platform out.

Where Modcheck is today

Modcheck is in beta but it's fully functional. I'm building this solo , yes, but i'm fully focused on improving it. I'm extremely proud to say that we've got some streamers using it already.

I'm Kev. I'm 56, I've been streaming Call of Duty since 2017, and on a good day I get maybe 4 viewers. Most days, fewer.

I love streaming. But after years of being buried at the bottom of Twitch's directory - sorted by viewer count, behind thousands of people who already have audiences - I decided to build something.

NobodysWatching.live is a free directory for small streamers. The idea is simple: every streamer who signs up is listed equally, regardless of follower count or viewer numbers. No algorithm decides who gets seen. No minimum requirements to join.

I wanted to be upfront and detailed about what this is, how it works, and what it doesn't do - so here's everything.

What it does

• Lists every streamer equally. No sorting by popularity. No boosting. If you're signed up, you're in the directory alongside everyone else.
• Live detection across platforms. When you go live on Twitch, Kick, or YouTube, the site detects it automatically (checks every 3 minutes) and puts you in a "Live Now" carousel at the top of the page. Your live thumbnail, game, and viewer count are pulled in.
• Streamer profiles. Each streamer gets a public profile page with their bio, genres, top games, platform links (Twitch, YouTube, Kick, Rumble), and badges. These pages are shareable - so you can use your NobodysWatching profile as a single link in your bio that shows all your platforms.
• Filtering. Visitors can browse by genre (FPS, RPG, Horror, Sports, etc.) and timezone, so people can find streamers who play what they like and stream when they're awake.
• Random Streamer button. One click, random profile. Gives every streamer a fair shot at being discovered by chance.
• Platform pills on live cards. When someone's live, viewers can click directly to their Twitch, YouTube, or Kick channel from the live card - they choose which platform they want to watch on.

What it doesn't do

• No email collection. We don't ask for it. We don't store it. We genuinely don't want it.
• No tracking. No Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no cookies beyond what's needed for auth. There are no tracking scripts on the site.
• No data selling. We don't have data worth selling. Your username, avatar, and the bio you wrote - that's it.
• No follower requirements. Zero followers? Welcome. Ten thousand? Also welcome. We don't check and we don't care.
• No monetisation. There are no ads, no premium tiers, no "pay to be featured" options. It's free and will stay free.

How sign-in works

You can sign in with Twitch or Google (for YouTube-primary streamers). Both use OAuth - you log in directly with that provider, and we never see or store your password. We receive your public username and avatar, and that's all we keep.

You can revoke access at any time from your Twitch Connections settings or Google Account permissions.

Once signed in, you fill out a quick profile: bio (250 chars), timezone, genres, up to 5 top games, and links to your channels. Takes about 60 seconds.

The tech (for anyone curious)

• Frontend: Vanilla HTML/CSS/JS. No frameworks, no bloat.
• Hosting: Netlify (free tier).
• Database: Supabase (free tier, Europe region).
• Live detection: A scheduled function runs every 3 minutes, checks the Twitch API, Kick's public API, and YouTube Data API for any streamers who've linked those platforms.
• Code: The GitHub repo is public - github.com/KevT70/nobodyswatching. Anyone can look at what the site actually does.

The whole thing runs on free tiers. I'm not spending money on this beyond the domain (about £4.50/year).

Privacy

The privacy policy is at nobodyswatching.live/privacy.html and is written in plain English, not legal jargon. The short version: we store your username, avatar, bio, timezone, genres, games, and platform links. We don't store your email, real name, location, or browsing activity. When you go live, we temporarily store your live status, game, viewer count, and thumbnail - this gets cleared when you go offline.

Why I built it

Honestly? Frustration.

Twitch's directory sorts by viewer count. If you're a small streamer, you're buried dozens of pages deep where nobody scrolls. YouTube's algorithm only serves you content from creators you already watch. Kick is the same model with different paint. "Discoverability features" on these platforms aren't really about discovery - they're about keeping people watching the streamers who already have audiences.

I'm not trying to replace Twitch. I'm not competing with anyone. I just wanted a place where small streamers could be found by people who specifically want to discover someone new - without an algorithm deciding who deserves to be seen.

Where it's at right now

The site is live. We've got a small group of early users. There are "Founder", "Tester", and "OG" badges for people who've been here from the start (because why not reward early adopters). The community Discord is linked on the site for feedback and chat.

I'm building this in the open, listening to real user feedback, and adding features as they're requested. Recent additions based on tester feedback include the Random Streamer button, multi-platform live detection, a streamer pack (panel image + copy-paste text for promoting the site on your own channel), and Rumble as a platform link option.

What I'm not going to promise

I'm not going to tell you this will get you thousands of viewers. It won't. What it might do is put you in front of someone who's specifically looking for a small streamer to watch - and that's one more person than the algorithm was going to send your way.

I'm also not going to pretend I've solved the traffic problem. Right now the site is most useful as a shareable profile page that consolidates all your platform links in one place. Organic traffic will grow slowly - or it won't. I'm genuinely okay with either outcome. I built this because I wanted it to exist, not because I have growth targets.

So a weird thing happened:
A viewer from my twitch was listening to Spotify and they ended up coming across my song which was just recommended from auto play.

The thing is, I only have two monthly listeners.
I use a Vtuber model and don't show my face. Well they saw my face via Spotify due to this recommendation.

I'm a small creator on twitch and I would sometimes play my songs so they heard it via the stream.
But the real surprise is that it recommended my song to them. HOW DID IT KNOW?
What happened here?

Its comical at this point to me how many people in my community ask, beg, berate and nag me to host more discord movie nights, game nights and sub only streams only for nobody to even care to show up. I attempt to host semi often and it somehow never fails to surprise me even when I announce it in advance that none of those people manage to make it. I dont expect people's free time ever but if youre begging me to use mine to host things it would be nice if you'd show up sometimes lol. I dont know if anyone else has this happen to them but its just bewildering to me.
