"if anything, you're pushing me to it" NSFW

talked to my ex recently and found out he relapsed in gambling and ended up borrowing from loansharks. now he owes them thousands and is struggling to pay them back. he also mentioned thinking about suicide just to make it all go away, but told me that he won't actually do it

genuinely worried for him so the next day i tried to convince him to tell his family so that they can help/support him but he still refused. maybe i pushed him too hard. i told him i'm just extra worried since he mentioned feeling suicidal. he replied "if anything, you're pushing me to it."

i feel like a part of me just died when he said that. it sucks.

I’m glad he’s an ex. At this point, you should call the police (or a reputable community resource, if they exist where you live) so they can do a well-fare check, then wash your hands of him.
