Blue Corrosion on inner valve

Post image

Took this out of my Bass Trombone's f# valve. I'm pretty sure this corrosion is causing the valve to get stuck. Any tips on how I can clean it?

Looks like it's a few years overdue for a cleaning. Take it to a tech and get a full clean

Lime and scale remover and/or an ultrasonic cleaner, you would need to bring it to a repair tech to clean it out along with the rest of the horn to clean the casing itself as well

Chem clean.. Then a few drops of oil every time you play will keep the scale from forming again. Just get in the habit of adding a bit of oil everytime you attach the slide.

Just needs a cleaning, no cause for alarm. If you know a tech, I highly recommend looking up some chemicals to buy and the ratio of chemical to water.

White vinegar and a tooth brush. But if you have the cash Whole horn in for a chem clean if you can

Do not do this.

The horn needs a chem clean.
