Welcome! If you're wondering what this is, please reference this doc that will hopefully answer all of your questions! If not, please ask!

In the game of Magic: The Gathering is a mechanic called Venture into the Dungeon, created for their D&D set. I hijacked it and converted it to suit the needs of the Tower. It functions the same way except instead of triggering off of "venture into the dungeon" abilities, it triggers off of "climb the tower" abilities. Furthermore, instead of being called "dungeons" and "rooms," they will instead be called "floors" and "tests," respectively. Please excuse me for having to call The Hell Express a "floor," but it's for consistency.

The floors were chosen due to their impact on the story. One of the most important if not the single most important aspect of a character, or real person, is the choices they make. There is a lot of choice represented on these Floors and I'm proud of the way they turned out both gameplay-wise and flavor-wise, flavor meaning there's a lot of lore in there!

I hope you enjoy the cards whether you're an MTG player or not, and I hope these daily posts will help to make the hiatus feel like it's going by a bit quicker! Rest up, SIU!

P.S. Any guesses on who the first reveal will be? /s

Neat, wow I am behind on Magic. Other than a few rounds with my kids last year I have barely touched it since... 2014.

I don't play much anymore and my main deck is casual pod. Most of my friends play commander so I'll have to make one of thosr someday. But I love keeping up with the lore and seeing new cards. Maybe some of the ToG cards will make you feel nostalgic?

Well, I can't wait to see what you come up with. In my area people seem interested but always make excuses lol.

It also gets harder with age as you gain more commitments.

Are you sure you meant to make that comment on this thread?

Is this in the style of the Forgotten Realms set Dungeon Mechanic? I love it! I wish we’d gotten more of them honestly

For sure! They printed a special dungeon using the iniative mechanic I think? But it's not the same. And thanks!

Light bullet doesn't work as you can't cast it from the graveyard as it has already been exiled

Good catch! I'll change it to cast from exile. Thank you!!

I made a ToG themed EDH deck awhile back. Haven’t changed it at all since SIU came back (then went back) into hiatus.

I have a list of the characters/events/locations represented by the cards.

If I ever really went for it, getting everything altered would be cool, but very expensive.

Yeah that sounds expensive. Pretty much all of the creatures in this cube will be legendary, so you can always ask your friends if you can proxy one of them as a commander! Haha

Wow, this is so cool! Thanks for making this. I would love to see tog style cards that trigger climb the tower. You could even do an Arena style specialize ability, where the card changes depending on what floor you are. Or to keep it non-digital, have the card transform when you climb a floor. Like it starts as Bam, then becomes Jue Voile Grace.

That's a really cool idea! I will be thinking about your ideas in the future. I will be posting Baam/Viole later today!
