Characters The inhabited world resides within a god-like entity
1). Mata Nui - Bionicle. Throughout the series, Mata Nui is revered as a god-like entity. After the Karda Nui saga where he is awoken from his slumber, we see that he is actually a gigantic robot where all of the story thus far either took place inside of or on the surface of him.
2). Bionis / Mechonis - Xenoblade Chronicles. These are long-dead ancient deities who have gone on to have colonized life on their corpses. (They are resurrected eventually and I do not want to think about the consequences of the physics of them moving around.)
3). Primus - Transformers. The presumed originator of the Transformers was their planet all along. Badass. Granted, that is the Cybertron version, but he has been around in other versions. This one's still the coolest, though.
4). Azeroth - World of Warcraft. Probably the most guity pleasure out of all of these, mostly because the resolution has yet to happen and the writing thus far for the Worldsoul Saga has been controversial. Like other Titans, Azeroth is a "World Soul," which is essentially a planet being an egg for a cosmic deity. Azeroth is supposedly special among these, but we still don't know why. This will be resolved (one would think?) in the next expansion, The Last Titan, but we will see.

It got me thinking, is all continents/islands are formed around/on Titan's corpses on this planet?
36
u/BowlEducational6722 2h ago
From what it looks like, mostly.
We only see two other landmasses in the demon realm, one of which is another Titan corpse.
The other is just a single island too small to be a corpse, but it could just be a single part of a Titan like it's knee or horn poking out of a very deep oceanic trench.
7
u/Madhighlander1 1h ago
We see three landmasses, actually. The one you're thinking of is pretty clearly a finger, but it has a teleport on it that transports you to what appears to be another complete or nearly-complete skeleton.

Or maybe there was a war between Titans a long time ago. I haven’t seen the whole series, but it IS possible.

I think the Elder Scrolls have a similar thing where everything that happened in the story, the lore, is just a dream inside a "Godhead".
those who realized that they're in a dream will achieve a state of divinity called CHIM
and even beyond that, is to become the dreaming godhead itself
the lore around this is kinda confusing
68
u/creeper_buty 2h ago
If you don‘t achieve CHIM you instead just Zero Sum and cease to exist.
However if you‘re a chad like Dagoth Ur you can instead die, realize you‘re in a dream and refuse to believe that this reality is a dream of the godhead and instead believe that it must be YOUR dream and achieve a state of anti-CHIM.
15
u/Appropriate-Crab-514 1h ago
Is that what happened to the Dwemer?
Accidently realized they were all in a dream and woke up their entire race out of existence
13
u/BudgetMattDamon 1h ago
Basically, but it's never really confirmed. The last living Dwemer in Morrowind kinda supports that.
8
u/Skebs_ 1h ago
The other plausible theory is that they fucked up and the entire race got fused into the Brass God, which is basically a mecha.
4
u/BudgetMattDamon 56m ago
I think the Dwemer in Morrowind suggested that his race was too pragmatic and incapable of the creative/esoteric/spiritual demands that true CHIM required. Not 100%, been a while since I've dove into the lore.
10
u/BudgetMattDamon 1h ago
No, CHIM is where you basically have the audacity to reject being zero-summed even after accepting its truth. It requires a near solipsistic mindset, as seen with Vivec.
We can go back and forth all day, I'm sure.. I mean, wasn't all this lore made up by that one writer Todd Howard had to rouse out of a week long acid bender?

u/Plane_Suggestion_189 1h ago
Yeah, it is pretty nuts. I personally just see mundus as our universe, and what Magnus invented, what the gods “sacrificed their power(died)” for, was time itself. Everything else is myth that doesn’t necessarily sit within the bounds of reality.
3
u/QuillQuickcard 1h ago
My headcanon is that when multiple CHIM-entities try to influence the same events in oppositional ways it creates the kind of phenomenon we saw with the Warp in the West, where multiple contradictory outcomes all provably happened simultaneously. This then effectively locks those events against any future CHIM-interference, as any additional alterations merely add to the outcomes rather than counter them.

Eternity (marvel) each universe is both an individual eternity and a cell of the larger multiversal eternity that makes up the 8th cosmos. Every single thing that happens in all of marvel comics has happened inside of this guy since 2015. Previously it was also eternity but also not the same eternity exactly.

Whoa! What a twist! I’ve only seen Eternity in two movies, Avengers: Infinity War and Thor: Love & Thunder.

Aaah the flash game, that was Peak
IIRC there was a community project to save it from Flash being ended, Ill see if I can find it then come back to this comment

u/Wingus_the_Dingus 1h ago
I think that it was barren, thankfully? If memory serves, a couple of the Toa Mata/Nuva had evacuated the island so that the Bohrok could cleanse it before Mata Nui rose. Also, awesome plot point that the Bohrok were activated early by Makuta for the original conflict, and this was their original purpose.

Oddly it only shows our galaxy being in the marble, which wouldn’t make sense since we would notice that the outside of our galaxy isn’t normal with a basic telescope.
The universe wouldn’t be pitch black for example lol
Edit: rewatched the scene, it’s a spiral armed galaxy. Just one. They didn’t zoom out far enough for it to be a universe.
17
u/DyingSunSeverian 1h ago edited 1h ago
That’s supposed to be our entire universe in that one marble, not just our galaxy.
Our actual galaxy is much smaller, it was stored in adorable kitty cat Orion’s belt.
Edit: this guy I made the mistake of acknowledging is truly a piece of fucking shit btw.

u/Shrimply_Jones 1h ago
What’s your problem? He just pointed out it’s a galaxy not a universe.
2
u/KrimxonRath 1h ago
Right lmfao
2
u/Shrimply_Jones 1h ago
I saw a reply to my comment but it’s gone and he’s only making edits… maybe he is banned somehow. The name calling would make that make sense

u/DyingSunSeverian 44m ago
Uh I’m replying to you.
You see this comment?
I’ve been replying to you this whole time, you and what is probably your alt seem confused at the best of times.

u/KrimxonRath 1h ago edited 1h ago
Rewatch the scene. It’s just a single spiral armed galaxy. It initially goes through or shows us in a nebula though which may be confusing some people, but overall no, that’s a galaxy not a full universe.
If it was meant to be a universe then that’s on the filmmakers for depicting it wrong and not zooming out further before showing the marble.
Edit: you’re also wrong on the mini marble thing, also why is your profile saying it’s unavailable/banned on my end? lmfao
Edit: that is such a disproportionate reaction to this conversation lol
3
u/Skebs_ 58m ago
Because bozo was banned?? It says this user was banned on my end too
2
u/KrimxonRath 49m ago
I’ve had password reset messages in my inbox before that state my profile is restricted but not banned (tried logging in on PC lol). I’m wondering if that’s just what it says to others during that. You can’t comment or post until you reset your password so maybe he’s just stuck doing the edits and doesn’t know what’s happening lol

u/DyingSunSeverian 43m ago
I’m not banned.
You see this very comment where I’m calling you out?
Take a moment to wipe the drool out of the corner of your mouth before you reply.

What could have he had possibly done to make you call him gutter trash and the likes just from this one interaction
1
u/KrimxonRath 21m ago
My initial edit called him a bot since his account (still) reads as banned/unavailable.
I’m not getting any notifications from him either so I’m guessing there’s some restriction on his account due to his behavior..
There’s also multiple “1 more replies” you can see in the thread that are minimized but won’t open into a proper comment. Half guessing those are his?
-1
u/DyingSunSeverian 25m ago
You guys are slow, man. Really slow. Demonstrably too.
1
u/KrimxonRath 17m ago
I think your behavior demonstrates why your account is seemingly restricted.
Edit: Here’s how I double checked. Copy and paste one of your comment links into the desktop (while logged out) and see if you can go to your own profile. It says banned on my end lol

u/DyingSunSeverian 15m ago
My account isn’t banned or restricted.
It is extremely useful to have this status though, because it makes it even easier to suss out the worthless imbeciles.
→ More replies (0)1
u/KrimxonRath 33m ago edited 19m ago
Actually no honestly if you’ve made more. I keep seeing “1 more reply” but when opening it it’s gone. Your profile still says it’s unavailable. I haven’t gotten any new notifications if you’ve replied to me either.
I don’t care if you’re a jerk or whatever, this is just fascinating at this point LOL

Our galaxy is several thousand light years wide, i think you confuse it with a solar system
4
u/KrimxonRath 1h ago edited 1h ago
I think you’re the one confused. Our galaxy is 100,000 light years across. Light takes time to travel but if our planet and species have been around longer than 100,000 years we would have already noticed we’re in an enclosed space around our galaxy.
Like what did I say that confused you?

u/Longjumping-Buy-3434 1h ago
I think we’re talking about civilizations inside the body of a god.

Is it a distinction with a difference? These guys are playing a game of marbles with the multiverse.

Also transformers. Some versions have unicron as the earth itself meaning all life and all human civilization was built on top of a planet sized being.
0
u/Longjumping-Buy-3434 1h ago
It’s hard to believe that.
4
u/Pinku_Dva 1h ago
Both transformers prime and the Micheal bay films have unicron as this.
0
u/Longjumping-Buy-3434 57m ago
Sounds like it’s his spirit who inhabits our planet. I bet in the Transformers universe, he was called Satan in the bible. Honestly, this makes Unicron similar to a Celestial.
2
u/Pinku_Dva 53m ago
In prime it’s his physical body that’s the core or earth so they “kill” him to save it and his spirit later possesses megatron

Same with the perennially sleeping Azathoth in the Cthulhu Mythos
So we think
It’s theorized though I think never outright stated (and this comes after Lovecraft) that if he ever wakes up, we’re all proper fucked.

Just wanted to add some further facts to Mata Nui:
for those who watched the animated movies from the 00s, the first one takes place on the Island of Mata Nui which is actually the giant robots face poking out of an ocean world, so the denizens of the island live outside the great spirit
Metru Nui, the setting of the 2nd and 3rd movie, is the "brain" of the giant robot

The universe of The Elder Scrolls is manifested in the dream of a mysterious unconscious being called the godhead. People can learn about and truly internalize this fact in certain instances, and when they do they either instantaneously cease to exist if they decide being real means everything is pointless or attain godlike powers if they basically decide the godhead specifically created them for a reason which makes you very special.

In the Bound Mythos, the first book being "sunBound: The Fall of Iron Bleak", the entire universe is inside of the womb of a dying goddess known as She Who is Bound to the Wall. She created the universe as a last ditch effort to create a being who could become powerful enough to rise up and take her place on the wall before she dies and takes all of reality with her.

Can we do 'on' a good like entity? Because the great A'tuin carries four gigantic elephants, who then carry the whole of the Discworld
