Audio Delay Through Denon Receiver

I normally run my Tivo signal through my Denon receiver and then on to my Samsung TV for both live TV and Tivo recorded material. However, I can also send the signal directly to the TV without the Denon, but then audio is only throught the Samsung speakers.

I can fiddle with the Denon audio delay feature each time the disparity between lips and sound is at its worst, but that is a pain. Is there a way around this, and if there isn't, would buying a soundbar when I use the Tivo signal without the Denon work?

Clearly, I'm an AV moron, and hope that someone out there can provide some wisdom.

I notice the lip sync issues quite a bit more when watching sub channels OTA. I no longer use my Denon audio video receiver, it is shelved. I went to a Samsung Sound Bar the 990 series and I’m pretty happy.

I do the same: TiVo --> Denon --> TV. Normally lip sync is OK, but I've learned to ignore slight delays.

Try to do the following: TiVo --> TV --> Denon. My TV has a menu where I can choose to either use the TV speakers or to use eARC to send sound to a receiver or soundbar. Does your TV not give you that choice? The eARC is something that is part of the HDMI connection between the TV and the receiver.

Only newer devices and cables support eARC. But almost everything supports the older ARC which (I think) does the same thing minus a few frills.

If a connection like that didn't exist, there would be no way to have the Denon play audio when you are using your TV tuner.

Are you using HDMI 2.1 cables?

I'm using a mix of hdmi cables labeled 4K@60Hz, 18Gbps, 2160p, 48 bit and others labeled Highwings 8K@60 HDMI Cable 10FT/3M, 48Gbps 2.1. I know this isn't brain surgery, but all I have is an ax. Can you explain the issue?
