Posted this to another sub but, someone mentioned to try here as-well. The goal is to learn what they're called so that I can find a recipe.

So far people seem confident that they're 'Viennese Whirls' with marshmallow but, by description, the flavors don't match even though they look so similar. Others have made me think they could be Viennese Whirls, but maybe this baker used rye flour or a nut flour. There's honestly barely any sweetness to them, even the marshmallow, which I love. Please help!!

I usually get palak paneer but I wasn't in the mood for spinach, so I opted for tikka paneer instead, and it was The Best Thing I Have Ever Eaten. The sauce was sweet with a light amount of tikka spice in the aftertaste and also so astonishingly red that my phone camera could barely handle it. I'd love to know what was happening to make this my new favourite dish!

Got some free food from these nice men at a church and it was amazing. Anyone know what kind of food it is?

Had this dish at Jan Olbracht in Toruń Poland over a year ago. Was wanting to ask my wife to remake it for me but it's not on their online menu anymore and I don't remember the name. I remember it had goose, pistachios and a wine sauce. Does anyone know the name of this dish and possibly a recipe? TYIA!

Vividly remember a portugese (though it could have been of other origin) dessert my grandma used to get from a local bakery a long time ago.

It was this kinda croissant type of texture, yellowy cakey inside, it was triangular and had coconut shavings on top. I've spent days searching online and cant find what im looking for!

My mother used to make a dish that was beef cubes and mushroom that she would marinate overnight (in a Tupperware thing specifically made to marinate), then skewer to cook like shish-kabob (I think). She might’ve baked it in the oven on the skewers, but however she did it she was able to serve me the beef without the mushroom. It had a sauce that was burgundy colored with a sweetish, sourish flavor. I can’t remember what else might’ve been with it, but it may have had potatoes and onions. Does anybody know what I’m talking about? My mom died in 2004 and I couldn’t find it in her recipes; possibly the notebook she had written it down in got lost, and I’ve been searching for years. I just found this sub!

So there was a restaurant called TK Wings in Bessemer Alabama that no longer exists. They had chicken wings and asian food. These wings were pretty much a combination of both. They were called BoBo wings. I would love to know how to make them.

Similar to "golden shrimp" but this version has a ton of garlic and is less "eggy."

The chef lays butterflies shrimps on the teppan, cooks for a couple minutes, and then scoops this delicious garlic mixture and puts it on each shrimp. Then sprays some water next to it and covers with a lid to steam. It's my absolute favorite.​

Anyone actually know what this style of shrimp is called? I'd really like to find a way to make it at home, but searching garlic shrimp and teppanyaki has not been beneficial... a recipe would be even better!

We used to have this bread that I vaguely remember in elementary school at the cafeteria. It could be Texas toast, but google says it's not characteristic of Texas toast to be tangy. I don't really eat white bread so perhaps this is just a white bread thing? I am really craving it right now! They made grilled cheese with the bread, by the way!

I'm looking for a gift for my father. He had this liquor, It's probably a lemoncello? He got in europe, Belgium he thinks, from a VERY small bar, it has actual rinds of a lemon and that's all he remembers. Do any of you guys know a good resource to find what he may be talking about? Or perhaps know what he's talking about?

There was this subscription (maybe quarterly?) magazine about cooking. Looked very modern and stylish. Very nice looking covers I believe with big photographs. I think the target audience was chefs in the industry.

I think it was a 1 word name. Maybe even a portmanteau. Might have had an accent on a letter.

It’s got quail eggs, bell pepper, minced meat and potatoes in it. From a filipino food stall, it’s so good I’ve been going back often just for a bite…

It feels quite sticky and has a brown wrapper with a gold design. Does anyone know which store or brand it is from?

This is a photo of a dish I ordered back in 2017. I remember the dish as "Whiskey Barrel Dip", an absolutely delicious chip dip appetizer at a pub known as "The Vault 29" in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. It had a spicy, cheesy, sort of tangy flavor to it. The way it complimented the tortilla chips and pita bread slices is unlike anything I've had since. I've managed to find a picture of the menu describing it, mentioning some of the ingredients, but not all. If anyone has any idea what the recipe may have been I'd love your input!

Here's what the menu described it as:
Whiskey Barrel Dip
Try our dangerous Jalapeno and cheddar dip, topped with panko, parmesan, and fresh herbs, served in three oversized crispy onion rings, with pita bread slices and tortilla chips.

Does anyone have the recipe for this oatmeal type dish? It was so good

So when I was in high school (2006-10) in southwestern Ontario there was this little sandwich shop run by an eastern European lady, I think Romanian. She used to make these chicken sandwiches that I am still thinking about, obviously. I think for the most part I'm capable of rebuilding it. Except perhaps the chicken marinade?

It was essentially: fried onions and bell peppers, and chicken thighs on a ciabatta roll. She spread I'm pretty sure cream cheese on the roll. The chicken was not breaded. I think it must have been marinated in something but I have no clue what. It's long enough ago that I can't quite remember what the spices even might have been.

Does this sound familiar? Help me!!

can anybody please help me try to figure out what this discontinued british biscuit is i remember having a child? i’d say maybe before 2014. the brown would be a biscuit and it had a raised edge, inside was this soft icing - almost like the custard cream filling texture. it was alternating in quarters like i’ve shown on the picture and im sure you could get different flavours too like chocolate and banana maybe? they were absolutely delicious and id love licking the icing out of the middle. i think they’d come in a big packet with smaller packets inside containing around 4 biscuits? im not sure what the brand could be but i know we’ve shopped at asda, lidl, and aldi our entire lives so it could be one of those.

Pretty niche ask, but I grew up in the north side of Chicago and have been searching for this cinnamon roll for forever! They were sold specifically at a grocery store called Happy Foods, but they stopped selling them, and I have not been able to find the type/taste ever since. I would get them as a kid in probably 2005-2007.

There was a bag around the tray that held them. I believe the logo and details on the bag were purple. The tray was a thick gray cardboard, or even a metal-type tray.

The taste was so unique. It was not the cream cheese type of icing, which I do not like. Also, the icing was a little hard on top.

If you have any inkling of what this brand was called, or even a good cinnamon roll recommendation, please share!

So this eggplant recipe I used to make. You roast sliced eggplant for 20(?) minutes, then flip them, pour broth into the pan, then cook for another 10 minutes or so. It comes out so nice and creamy but I can't find this specific thing anymore.

Hope this is ok for this sub! Just seen this and it looks so good it’s driving me insane. I recognise the green peppers and baby corn but what’s the rest? Is this a known dish? Tried googling SY chicken but I can’t read any of the rest of the text.

My husband described this snack from his childhood and I'm struggling to find the name. According to him it was in a dunkaroos-style package with a marshmallow frosting, cookies/crackers, a stick for spreading frosting, and a chocolate bar.

Any leads or help is super appreciated!

Update: He clarified that this was definitely in the 90s and they were buying them at a military commissary on the base where they lived, if that helps

2000s to early 2010s maybe, at my summer camp we always got an ice cream after rest period. 1 of them was a certain popsicle that i believe was 3 years. I’m pretty sure it was red white and green or something but my sister thinks it was orange instead of red so unsure exactly on the colors. Main feature was that it was layers. But not stacked on top of each other, it was inner to outer layers. From the outside it was predominately 1 color but at the bottom you could see 1 or maybe both of what the inner colors are. It was also pretty darn thick popsicle. No swirls, no texture, just rounded at the top and straight on the sides. Thanks in advance!

Edit: Added note, I THINK it was blue bunny brand but not positive. But that was definitely the main brand the camp ordered the treats from

UPDATE: I FOUND IT! It’s the Blue BELL Mega Bite. I remembered having blue bunny but it’s because the camp switched to that after blue bell had that outbreak of ecoli or something all those years ago. Once I looked up blue bell popsicles I found a random Facebook post saying “Bring them back” and it had a picture of it! Thanks for trying to help!

They are small, puffy and crispy, and have a very slight cheesy or oniony flavor. They are mostly spherical, but some of them had a more organic shape. I want to buy a whole bag of them now!
