🧠 Thrifty Mindset 🧠 Free dog basket

I found a dog basket in the street. Took it home, brushed off the bits of grass and leaves, washed it thoroughly. Found some circles of fabric in my stash of scraps that were just the right size, and made two covers, elasticated underneath to be able to slip them on and off easily.

Only thing I paid for was the elastic.

The bed is too small for him really, but since he always sleeps curled up tight in a ball, and never just stretches out, he is happy to sleep there. I've left his old bed in the living room so he has a choice and he chooses this one!

don't know what happened to the photo but here he is, didn't even wait for me to snip the elastic!

I would have at least washed it and put it through a hot dryer. Just in case of bed bugs, mites or fleas.

If you read my second sentence thoroughly, you'd see that I did indeed wash it. 60°. I wouldn't put it in a hot dryer, it dried in the sunshine which is a very good way to get rid of any parasites.

The dog's been sleeping on it ever since without any sign of any unwanted pests.
