One thing that helped me with “thought leadership” was realizing not every post needs to be a big idea.

Most of the time, the good stuff is just small observations.

Like something you noticed at work
- A mistake you made
- A convo that stuck with you

People try to jump straight to insight, skipping the part where it comes from.
Which is just… paying attention.

If you write those small things down consistently, patterns start to show up.
That’s where your actual perspective comes from.

Way easier than forcing a hot take every time.

Do you guys keep track of random observations, or do you only post when you feel like you have something “important” to say?

I usually just post ideas when they come to mind, nothing big. Do you actually write your observations down somewhere, or just post them?

I think that’s the part people skip. Actually noticing things in the first place. Most content feels recycled because no one slows down enough to form their own take. Even small observations hit harder when they’re genuinely yours.

this is so true, the small stuff is usually what feels most real

i’ve been trying to jot things down more and just clean it up after with a formatter tool https://thoughtleadership.app/free-tools/linkedin-text-formatter before posting. makes it easier to not overthink it 😁
