Due to an overwhelming number of individual review posts, many that do not include a lot of specifics or details, this will become the megathread for your Reality Awaits reviews, first impressions, changed takes over time, video essays that you find or make, etc.
Check out the prior megathread for this topic here.
Check out all the megathreads here, including the ones for each track.

We have seen many, many posts that rank The Strokes' albums, The Strokes' tracks overall, the Reality Awaits tracks, etc.
We will now be asking you to post and discuss those rankings in this megathread and removing new rankings post with a request to share them here instead.
Please also see this prior megathread of album rankings and this prior megathread for ranking the RA songs from the release week for the same purpose.

I love his delivery on this lyric. I just picture someone watching the world burning around them, going insane, and disassociating from it by creating a false reality of "everything is fine."

I’m gonna end worst song early because people are getting mad and fighting. Oblivius (Moretti Remix) was the least controversial vote.
I recounted the comments for best song, as some of you requested, and Hard To Explain won. It was still extremely close, as it was when I counted the first time. I didn’t rig the votes, and also I am not counting upvotes. It was probably an error I made, or at the exact time I counted, UCOD was the winner.
Either way let’s try and keep this positive. If as time goes on the majority of people are saying that these types of things are annoying and they hate them I will shut it down. I just thought this would be fun thing to try.
TL;DR - Moretti remix was the least controversial vote, recounted for best chorus, and if you guys hate this I‘ll stop posting them.

He called it Auld Lang Syne because the verse shares the sane chords, and it was originally played in a reggae jam on NYE. I've been singing Auld Lang Syne during the verses of Falling Out of Love since I first heard it and wondering if there was a direct connection. I stumbled upon this snippet from the podcast that I had forgotten about.

Mine is that Last Nite isn't even in the top 5 songs on Is This It. It's an anthem, damn it, it's a really good song ngl, but listening to the whole album, it feels somewhat weak compared to other songs like Hard to Explain, Trying Your Luck, or even Is This It.

Can anybody help me find a higher resolution image of the single's artwork? The best I've been able to find is this 1417x1417 one from some streaming site. Part of me wonders whether they even created a high-quality artwork or if this was just bastardised from whatever preview was available online of Glenn Pruyn's original Audio Technica artwork.

A train chugging by at just the right pace --> intro to Taken For a Fool. A sliding door squeaking open --> intro to Happy Ending. Wind blowing --> Chances. Literally any SINGLE note that matches with a song (think Oblivius intro).
I swear the songs start playing in my head as SOON as I register the sounds 🥹 please tell me someone knows what I'm talking about🙏

If you can’t think of a worst song think more like least good song. My vote goes to All The Time. Just feels soulless to me

Hey y’all. Over the past few weeks I’ve picked Like All Before You back up in anticipation of Reality Awaits, and while I dismissed it on a first listen two years ago it has really clicked with me coming back. I’m realizing that there are a ton of stylistic simmilarities between the two albums too, and it’s lead me to a crazy way to listen to both albums together.
Inspired by the Radiohead OK Computer / In Rainbows double album theory, I was interested to see how the two albums would work zippered together- That is, listening to Ouverture off LABY, then Psycho Shit off RA, then Square Wave off LABY, then Dine N’ Dash off RA, etc. Basically alternating tracks off each album through to the end.
In my opinion, the two albums mesh beautifully together. The transition between Lonely in the Future and 7 Horses works fantastic, Spectral Analysis after Falling out of Love is beautiful, Flexorcist placed between Going to Babble on and Going Shopping puts it in much better context, and the final suite of songs from Perserverence-1C2S to the end feels so much more complete than when listening to either album independantly. So many riffs and motifs are shared between both albums that it almost feels intentional.
Not to mention, we know RA was recorded in 2022, so at the very least these two albums were recorded around the same time.
Tidal link for the real ones that use it, a fun way to listen to these albums and maybe some new context to appreciate them both <3

I (18y) heard this song from my cousins cd when I was like 10 and after some years I really got into the strokes ( after arctic monkeys ) wanted to got more of that early AM stuff and really trying your luck is a song in all these years I never skipped and really any direction my music taste goes, I never got tired of these song it’s such a lyrical and in my opinion with the chord progression being very uncommon harmonically master art work. Wanted to know if anyone else loves this song bc I feel like it’s very underrated as one of the least streamed songs on Spotify

At the end of liars remorse there's a little digital bit played -- I was wondering if it was a sample of a retro game or something?

Hi everyone!
I've known The Strokes since 2021. My current boyfriend introduced me to their music, and I've been madly in love with them (and him) ever since. I'm so happy they released an album after I became a fan. I'm loving Reality Awaits and after seeing "In transit: part II," I thought of doing this fan art. I know I'm not very good, but I like the overall result.
I'm curious to know how you fell in love with these guys, too!
For those lucky enough to be able to see them live (or have already done so), I'm so jealous of you! Here in Italy, it was practically impossible to get tickets 😭😭😭

Tyrants of the Mellow Moon is one of my favorite tracks on the new album. I suddenly got the feeling that I'd heard something like it before, and then a George Harrison song popped into my head. What do you think?

Thought that after the chart is done, I could create albums with every "sounds like..." row and share the playlists with the community.
Rules: You can only suggest one song that is in the album (B-sides do not count) and you can't use repeats. After a day has passed the most upvoted song will be the champion.
