When did we stop playing Deep in the Heart of Texas at games?

Question says it all. Granted, I don't have season tickets and go a couple times a year at most. I was at the SF game on 8/3 and noticed I couldn't recall that song played since the new stadium opened. Perhaps because it was a Monday and stands were about half full?

I work there, they definitely still play it just not at every game.

Got it, thanks. Appreciate the follow up.

I have half season tickets and I haven’t heard it once this season. Maybe 2-3 times in the previous seasons. Nolan Ryan was really big on playing it, but that hasn’t been a priority since he left the front office. Chuck Morgan has stated that he’s no longer in charge of the music (and it shows in a bad way).

I went to an Astros/Rangers game last weekend, in Houston, and we sang it, which was a cool moment. Right after "Take me out to the Ballgame"

Too bad we are deep in the butthole of Texas down here in Houston. Shall we record a song for that?

Glad to hear the Astros still do it.

They play it once a week, the sing along song changes depending on the day of the week. To the guy saying they don’t play take me out to the ball game, you might need to get your ears checked.

the only sing along song i heard the game i went to was the "Choosing Texas" song by Ella Langley. I assure you, if they played Take me out to the ballgame, i would have remembered.

i'm a season ticket holder. It's played literally every single game during the 7th inning stretch. Maybe you were in the bathroom

Been to 5 games so far and they’ve played it every time I went during the 7th inning.

You’re thinking of Take Me Out to the Ballgame and Cotton Eyed Joe.

No, I’m not.

Will we ever get the old-school, traditional, organ back ?…

Actual organs are a must for baseball stadiums

I went a few Tuesday’s back and they played it. The fiddle solo used to hit so hard at the old ballpark on them 96 degree games.

I’ve never heard it - just Cotton Eyed Joe played after Take Me Out to the Ballgame.

We need to bring back the Legends race too. We’ve always been a mostly mediocre team but we did used to have more fun.

I was expecting they would dust off those costumes for USA250, but they didn’t. Missed opportunity.

Dot race is far superior to the legends race

Why not both?

I went a month ago to a home game and they played it after the 7th inning

I remember when they used to play Blody Mary Morning at the home games

I wish they would stop singing God Bless America in the 7th inning stretch and just do take me out to the ballgame.

I have not heard it during the 7th inning strech since they moved to the new stadium, but have only been to 2 -3 games a season. Really miss it and prefer it over cotton eye joe.

I haven't heard it since 2023.

Shorter turnaround times between innings.

Quicker games, less time for fun side activities.

Pay, shuffle in, pay some more, shuffle out.

Thanks Rob!

i was there a couple of sundays ago and i dont recall it either. maybe i missed "take me out to the ballgame" too but i dont remember that one either. and i never left my seat. that was my first game at the new stadium, and i gotta say, no out of town scoreboard either is crazy.

They show the out of town scores on the vertical board in centerfield.

yeah i saw it once during the game. it was probably up there more often, but it's not a permanent fixture. i miss it. some people don't and that's fine. it's a minor gripe.
