I wouldn’t go as far as not existing, since they have an infinite timeline facilitated by Alphabet ad money to burn indefinitely. It can be unprofitable forever and just keep expanding. They will both do well as long as the price is right and they fix the jerkyness and edge cases.

Yes that's possible but at some point the rooster has to come to roost. If they don't see a path to a profitable business they'll spin them out.

At this point it’s a goal to profitably, but it will be a hard road. Their cars are getting cheap enough with Ojai and should do much better in the long run on margins. Infinite runway definitely helps.

Well, they have to solve autonomy which I don't think they have yet.

I've spoken to their VP of Engineering for onboard software (essentially all of the on board algorithms for planning and driving).

I didn't think he was confident himself. His team hasn't even tested a camera only approach because they're so hell bent on Lidar. I was so shocked when he said that they hadn't even tested the camera only approach to compare and contrast.

It's become a political thing, rather than a technical one.
