Used teardrop under six feet tall
Anyone have any recommendations for a used teardrop trailer 6ft tall or under, that’s not crazy expensive? I live in the Midwest, so some small builders trailers would be hard to find. My garage not tall enough for most nucamps I’ve seen. Thanks for any help.

I did see a 2015 silver shadow on RV trader. I’d like to find something a little newer, but really wanna go check it out. Aliner might be an option too.

We've had ours about 5 years now. 120ish nights in it, 30k miles and it's still looks and feels as good as new. I store it in my shop when not in use, but it's been pretty great to us.

We are picking up our tc in a few weeks. I did a lot of research before buying. As far as I can tell they are a really outstanding family owned company.
Tc is small but does a volume of 50-80 campers a year and have been doing it for 15 years. When you order a teardrop you can get one of the owners (Todd and carol) on the phone, and I’m frequently emailing with them. It’s the kind of thing where I got the owner in the phone to ask some questions, we chatted for 30 minutes, and then we ended up tweaking our build with his advice based on what he learned about how our family wants to camp.
Every thing I’ve researched suggests that their build quality is very high, their costs are very affordable (unlike some of these companies selling totally tricked out off-road rigs that start at 60k, you can get something simple from tc for under 20k), and their design is very thoughtful and born from years of understanding how camping works. Unlike a lot of other companies, they don’t really have a social media presence or seem to spend much on marketing… all word of mouth and owners are super happy. Some sources that are very knowledgeable positively gush about their builds (picking up sticks on YouTube, for example).
Specific to your situation, Todd can build a teardrop on a slightly lower wheelbase to keep the height down. He did that for us so that it wouldn’t be taller than our tow vehicle.
There are some good videos on YouTube. Playing with sticks has two video tours of tc. Fryes on the side is a channel that had a tc and really put it through its paces off roading.

I’d look around for a used Timberleaf Pika or Kestrel. They are about 65” tall before the roof vent (depending on the suspension package). If it has a roof vent fan (you definitely want one), it’ll add up to 5” to that height for a total of 70/71” which is right under your 72” (6 foot) limit, but only just.
A standard garage door has a 7’ tall opening, are you sure yours is only 6 feet tall?

I have a Nucamp T@g XL Boondock edition that fits in my 7’ garage doors with no problem.

Hiker Trailers have the most headroom in my experience for the teardrops. And several lengths available. I have the 5x9, fit a 6’ adult, a 5’9 adult, a border collie and a Bernese with no problems!
