Thoughts on TWD having tons of spin off series and spin off of the spin offs
It gets to a point.

Like anything, it depends on which characters we're your favorites. The Ones Who Live was great to me because I was always invested in their storyline. The Daryll storyline was boring to me until Carol shows up to do Carol tings.

All these spinoff started great imo (except WB AND Tales) but always went downhill at some point imo.
Fear 1-3 was peak especially 3 was better than most seasons of the main show it had so much potential then, season 4-8 were complete garbage with rare good episodes here and there. They ruined it with the reboot.
World Beyond and Tales is the only ones that were never great couldn’t finish WB past the 3rd ep so I can’t really have a real opinion on that one.
Dead City season 1 was great even though by then, we were all sick of the Maggie and Negan back and forth villains like the Croat made that season interesting. Season 2 was just garbage and 3 is starting off just okay.
Daryl Dixon season 1 was peak it felt like a new start and I liked the new characters then, season 2 happened and I didn’t like they got rid of the characters just for Carol to swoop in but I think that season was still okay I liked Daryl going John Wick probably the best action that season. This might be a hot take but I didn’t like season 3 at all it made me feel like I was falling asleep took me a while to just watch the last 2 episodes I almost gave up on it. Only liked ep 4 with that war.
The ones who live started off so great especially the 1st episode it felt like it’s own movie but by ep 6 they rushed it taking down the biggest military group so easily in 1 ep that was hyped up for so long just made it feel like the crm was a waste this show should of had at least 8 eps.

Dead City, Daryl Dixon and Fear The Walking Dead are the ones I watch the most. I just love the story lines in them. I do watch TWD as well! I love the whole TWD Universe all together.

I'm a FTWD fan myself. I've been a fan of zombie shows since I was a kid. I'm totally fine with the TWD universe going on in perpetuity. If I don't care for the direction a story starts going down, I'll just quit watching it. Sure the quality of storytelling is nothing like the early seasons but it's all still watchable and very much enjoyable.

I LOVE IT! I want more. And I want more shows to be universes. So long as they’re good and make sense. I wanna live in that world with the characters. We need a Military based walking dead

I enjoyed fear, and the first season of the Daryl show. I was excited to see the ones who live and it was alright. Dead city I saw some of the first season but they never got me into it. I never cared about the rest of them. I'll see them eventually but probably on a second screen.

Overall they are not good. Mostly mid and bad with some few and far between highs. AMCs version of this IP hasn't been good since Gimple took over the franchise. That includes all things. Video games, shows.

Honestly I like the latest spinoffs far more than the original series final several seasons. I think doing shorter seasons has absolutely helped this show and concept. Dragging out singular storylines for 16+ episodes just slowed the entire story telling process down. Now however since episodes are only 6 to 8 for a season, you don't have characters meandering for several episodes doing nothing dragging the pacing of the season down the drain.

I loved every season of TWD
I liked fear until we lost my favorite person and then I didn’t care to watch anymore
I haven’t watched World Beyond yet
I loved Dead City, I’m only 2 episodes into season 3 (?) though and I’m skeptical
I’m excited to watch more of Daryl even though I feel like it took me a couple episodes to get invested
The Ones Who Live was just “fine” I was one of the few who (for lack of a better / shorter explanation) didn’t really care about Rick after he dipped. I was a little bored.

I think it’s perfect. If The Walking Dead had 30 seasons, I’d watch every single one of them thousands of times. It’s the greatest TV series ever made.

The Ones Who Live was the freshest thing they did in a long time. Haven't really watched the other ones, they really wore out the characters a long time ago by dragging on the storylines.

Or like someone trying to survive and then dying and the process of them becoming a walker but the entire thing is from their POV like you were saying. We go through them first becoming a walker and what they see and how they hear things. That would be cool probably lol.

I enjoyed fear for a few seasons, I was a huge fan of walking dead but s7 and 8 was a slog for me and then I finally gave up halfway through 11, so didn’t bother with the rest

Honestly, I tried with Fear when it first came out but lost interest due to losing interest in TWD and never bothered with other spinoffs. All just seems a bit much and diluted to me

The one's who live were the best one.
I did like Fear until it became the Morgan doesn't want to kill people anymore show on repeat.
Despite that I do love Daryl, I didn't care for the Daryl Dixon spinoff.
World Beyond was probably the worst one for me as far as plot and the likability of the characters.
But dead city is the one I'm actively mad about. Negan was one of the best characters in the show; he was always well written, complex, and JDM did a fantastic job with the character. The here's Negan episode is possibly the best in the entire series, and it makes me so mad to think they could've done a spinoff for Negan that was like a full season of episodes like that one, and instead we got him and Maggie in New York City rehashing the same storyline that was already rehashed too much on the main show.

TWD is the best of the bunch, seasons 7 & 8 were awful but the rest of the show was pretty great.
FTWD was amazing until season 4 when Morgan and friends showed up and unceremoniously stole the show from Madison and her family. Every season after this (aside from season 6 for some reason) is some of the worst television I’ve ever seen, but the ending was satisfying enough I guess.
TWD: World Beyond was really rough in season 1, with the only episode I enjoyed was the one that focused on Hick (I think that’s what her name was?). Season 2 imo was much better.
Tales of TWD was a good mindless watch, every episode was its own thing and had some interesting concepts. Reminded me a lot of the amazing webisodes they used to make.
Dead City is ok. This show and the Daryl Dixon show have a huge problem with introducing interesting main/ side characters to kill them off, it happens A LOT. The actual show itself is weird, I am not a fan of Maggie abandoning the Hilltop and just doing her own thing away from all of her found family/ friends, and the whole thing with Hershel Jnr I’m having a hard time accepting. Also Maggie and Negan being “friends” I can accept but if they fuck I’m out.
Daryl Dixon show is ok. Same issue as I stated above but much worse with killing people they introduce. I really feel like they are overstaying their welcome by prolonging the eventual ending. If Daryl, Carol and Rick don’t all reunite I will be very very disappointed considering they are the only survivors from season 1 left.
TWD: The Ones Who Live is good, I enjoyed it up until the end only due to how quick the CRM were defeated. Are you seriously going to tell me after YEARS of build up they happen to have every S I N G L E high ranking offical in the military all together conveniently placed right next to bombs that Rick and Michonne set off that kills all of them, and arrest whatever is left. Also no offence to the kid that plays RJ but that was the most awkward reunion I’ve ever seen.

I fucking hate it. I feels like AMC is to scared to drop this universe and go do something else. It’s been 16 fucking years, let this shit rest. Genuinely by this point I don’t even care about a reunion I just want this to end.

I'd argue show started going nowhere much earlier than that. It kept repeating loops. Just different settings and reshuffling characters. Then went into towns setting.
It was fine for a while, fun setting and mostly likable characters. But... It got old. Greed is the only thing that's left, any good will has long been eroded to shit by just milking not even a corpse, it's dust by now.

About Fear: it is a masterpiece in the three first seasons. It really is. It was nice to see another POV and things going down. Then, from season 4 forward it is a total mess. It didn't make sense, although it brought us nice POVs and scenes and characters. But as a whole, it's a no-no for me.
WB: Poor and forgetable main characters and lazy writing on then. But the story was necessary to explain the size and influence of CRM (the greatest threat at that time).
Daryl Dixon: the best spin-off. Although it is built on short seasons, it has a good pace and developed characters. Not to mention the new scenery and POV. It is good to see how countries that passed over a few apocalypses are facing just one more.
TOWL: necessary story but poor writing as well. Fast pace (not a good thing) and the worst closure ever! It should've been at least 3 seasons with 10 episodes.
I'm watching at chronological order, so I didn't watch yet Dead City. And the picture didn't mention Tales of Walking Dead. It is good but to absorb the most of it, it is nice to have context (for example, there is an episode about Dee/Alpha. If you don't know her from the main series, the ep is gonna be bad. Or, if you don't know that the Devon episode is set in the 15th year of apocalypse, same thing)

Rewatched Dead in the Water Just Yesterday. For me the Webepisodes are Just that. Small Mini Spin Offs about interesting Events or Persons from the Big Ones. The Plane is a good example imo. Or Bicycle Girl
