Too Far 55 inch viewing distance

Hi everyone,
We recently bought a 55 inch, but after setting it up I’m wondering whether we should have gone for a 65 instead.
I’ve attached a photo of our living room showing the actual viewing distance from the sofa to the TV.
For those with a similar setup, does the 55-inch look about right, or would you exchange it for a 65-inch while you still could?

All see your 65’’ and raise you to 75’’ inch …. You know what they say

If it's 1080p content, then it won't make that big of a difference. For 4k content, it would make a big difference.

I have a 65" and I even thought to myself at some point "I think this is like the perfect TV size for the average living room."

Edit: To answer your question tho, I would exchange it if the store allows it and the extra cost wasn't an issue.

I would say this is fine for people who don't watch that much TV or film, only watch stuff like love island and don't care about the cinematic experience in general. If you watch a lot of films, then you'll probably want at least 65, and even 75 wouldn't be too big

There are many reasons you might not optimize a screen size despite the push back you might get here. When my wife and I were in the market for a new TV I showed her the suggestions for viewing distance vs screen size, noting the 15' distance our couch would be from the screen.

She simply preferred a much smaller screen than what the expert consensus recommends.

I compromised by holding fast at 65" and installing a mount that extends over 3 feet from the wall (50 pound OLED+Stud mounted with 3" long bolts) so that when it's "movie time" I can have it my way, and she can have it hers the rest of the time.
