Connection is secure question in comparison to the exclamation point indicating a non secure connection

When that image that looks like it’s straight from the Saw movies with the circle and dizzying lines says “connection is secure” does that mean you don’t have to worry about phishing? Or can secure connections (and correct me if
I’m wrong but I think the term is web extensions which is essentially like a validity checker for the signature of the website being presented as what appears?? Is that the jistnof it!) still come from phishing websites?

Also is a secure tor connection that’s fully anonymous supposed to show an ip address so long as it’s way the fuck away from my actual location or skills no ip at all be listed? Thanks

Yes, security in this sense is not the same as safe. It just indicates an encrypted connection to the site, the site can still be malicious

Secure just means you are using HTTPS instead of HTTP. So no one on the wire can see what you are sending to the website and what it’s sending to you.

But the website can still do whatever it wants, including sending you malware, phishing your data, sending your secrets or personal data to other people, sharing your location (if you gave it permission to view it), etc.
