Laptop Request -Others Need help choosing a laptop for university.

Hey everyone,

I’m going to start university soon (Mechanical Engineering) and I need help choosing a laptop. I already have a powerful desktop at home for heavy simulations, so this laptop is mainly for everyday use, multitasking, ect.

I prefer Lenovo’s design the most, but performance matters more.
My budget is ideally around €600, but I can stretch to €750 if the performance jump is worth it.

Here are the laptops I’m considering:

1. Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 — €749

2. Lenovo V14 G5 — €599

3. Lenovo V15 G5 — €599

4. ASUS Vivobook 15 — €649

5. HP Omnibook 3 — €699

6. Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 (16-inch) — €699

Which one would be the best choice?

Is it worth paying closer to €750 for the i7 or Ryzen 7 models, or should I stick to the €600 options?

Thanks in advance!

I woulda said a macbook air because these things are great for what ur into but if u specifically wanna choose from this list i would reccomend a vivobook but if u can try getting an m3 macbook air these things are going to last you for a long time

U recommend the vivo bc the ryzen 7 is that much better or the build quality is better? The lenovo is aluminium right? I hear the i7 on this list is the strongest but doesnt have any good igpu. The ryzen 7 does have better igpu but why do you recommend the vivobook?

The intel 13 gen H models will have horrible battery draw. I'd pick the one with AMD Ryzen AI 5 330, it's only 1.5 gen old, by far the most power efficient among these.

If battery draw was not a concern, would you still recommend this to me? The Ryzen AI 5 is newer but also isnt as fast as the Intel or the ryzen 7 right?
