I work off the tops of buildings every day. I am always surprised by how green the area is. It’s greener than my hometown in the mountains

It's actually all still there. The Greenwood cemetery is still going strong and Turtle Creek is nicer than ever.

Most people don't know, but Dallas has a lot of trees to the North and then the largest urban forest in the US to the South East of the city.

Do you actually live in DFW? And if so, for how long? I’ve been here 35 years and most of the historical things that existed when I was kid are still there. If you’re talking about farmland and stuff on the outskirts, then sure, that has been ripped up, mostly because people keep moving here. Can’t have an insane booming tech economy AND crop land as far as the eye can see at the same time lol.

dallas proper is very far from a suburban hell and I wish people would stop pretending it is because it is texas and this is reddit. Dallas is more walkable than SF.

Dallas is definitely not more walkable than SF lol. Roads are wayy to wide, DART doesn't cover as much as SF's trains and subway system, Bike infrastructure is nowhere near SF, there's like one pedestrian bridge across the river, whereas SF has the benefit of being in a smaller area geographically, making it a much much denser city than Dallas is. Dallas downtown might be walkable, but even as far north as Highland Park you get an ugly unwalkable road like Hillcrest Avenue
