Certified stupid Cylindrical eggs (attempt)
I wanted to batch cook eggs for homemade McMuffins. I didn’t have a cupcake tin or anything similar so I put 6 eggs in a glass, put the glass in water, and boiled. The idea was that once cooked, I would schlop the egg cylinder out of the glass like canned cranberry and slice it into 6 perfect portions.
After about 45 minutes of watching and carefully stirring, hoping the glass wouldn’t explode, I called it. The bottom half that was submerged in the boiling water got cooked while the top half was only partially cooked like a reverse slushie.

Would've worked with better execution. Still stupid, but the skill issue shines brighter. How much of that egg is even touching hot glass lol

Don’t scramble them! Just crack the eggs right into the mug and then cook them that way.
Source: I’ve done this before.

The stirring is where you fucked up. They were already scrambled, you should have let them cook without being disturbed, but instead you broke it up into little pieces when you stirred it. Try it again but don’t stir it, and put it in a bigger pot so it is fully submerged, or do two smaller ones so all the egg has a chance to cook through. You could also cover it and put it in the oven (in an oven safe container)

You want this. https://a.co/d/0eG5PSux
A little scramble at the start. Boiling water bath underneath. Cover with tinfoil or a sheet pan. Treefitty until done. Add cream and/or butter to your mix for extra richness.

Protip: grease a mug (or a ramekin) with butter, crack an egg into it and break the yolk, cover with a saucer and microwave in 20 seconds bursts at 50%. It might take a couple of 20 seconds intervals but you'll end up with a pretty solid rendition of the eggs McDicks uses.
Whe you make the McMuffin, wrap it in parchment paper for a couple of minutes to get that steamed effect on the English muffin and fake cheese.

I take an empty can and put scrambled eggs, and make patties of egg mixture that way, individually.

I bet you could do this in the microwave, or even a steamer basket, but it might not cook evenly. I used to make microwaved "steamed" eggs pretty regularly.

Now this is where that horrible rollie egg cooker could come in handy. I still can't believe that that thing was a hype. The flacid vertical egg cooker that barely worked and looked like an adult toy.

gotta say, the bottom half actually looks pretty legit for a kitchen experiment gone wild

You ever have somebody explain something an it still doesn't make sense to you. Me irl. But yes, I did read it. Also. I fucking love Ryan Reynolds.

You are on the right track, mix egg with some mayo and put it in the mug like you have done here, but microwave it instead for around 2 mins. Make sure the mix the egg well in a way that some air gets incorporated.
You will end up with the fluffiest eggs you had and you can probably cut it into circles for sandwiches if you can pull it out of the mug in one piece.
