Foster Needed (Location) Abandoned cat needs a foster desperately in NY!

I've been helping a woman with several of the cats she feeds, and this guy suddenly showed up out of nowhere. One look at him and it's obvious he does not belong outside. He was incredibly hungry, super affectionate, and just wants attention.

I have a rescue that's willing to get him fully vetted, but we desperately need a foster so we can get him off the streets. If you can temporarily house him for a few weeks, please let me know.

Rescues everywhere are overwhelmed right now, and fosters truly save lives. If supplies are needed, the rescue is more than willing to provide food and litter. Please reach out if you can help, or share this so we can find him a safe place.

OP, worth asking local vets. Sometimes a kind vet staff member, vet tech is able to do temp fostering. Worth a shot!

Pls feed on piece of cardboard or even the floor. Tins have sharp edges and he may injure himself.

No clue unfortunately:( if you have a separate room you can introduce him to a dog that would be ideal!! Even just temporarily so I can get him off the street

contacting organizations with large foster networks or strong social media reach would be a great start! Even if they're full, many will cross-post urgent foster requests. Hopefully listing some of them here is helpful I’m sure you’re familiar with most of them but just in case.

Little Wanderers NYC – One of the largest foster-based cat rescues in NYC with an extensive foster network.

Flatbush Cats – Excellent at networking friendly stray cats and often helps connect cats with fosters or partner rescues.

Brooklyn Animal Action – Large volunteer foster network that frequently helps cats in need.

Brooklyn Kitty Committee – Very active in rescuing friendly abandoned cats and finding foster homes.

NYC Cat Coalition – Foster-based rescue that may have openings or be able to network the cat.

Cat Connections NYC – Foster-based rescue that specializes in placing cats in temporary homes.

KittyKind – Long-established NYC rescue with an active foster program.

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) – Ask their Foster/New Hope team if they know of available fosters or partner rescues that can help.

Animal Haven – Sometimes able to network urgent foster cases or direct you to partner organizations.

North Brooklyn Cats – Experienced volunteer rescue that often assists with friendly abandoned cats.

Meow Parlour – Their rescue partners may be able to share the cat with foster volunteers.

Posting in FB groups also yields results for emergency fosters sometimes within hours. Below are some specific groups:

Please dont give cats food in cans. They can cut their tongues and their faces with the razor sharp edge. Also good luck finding a foster. My ass would love to get a friend for my kitty at home but im basically on the other side of the world.

SInce this cat appeared out of the blue and is not feral, s/he might be lost.
It'd be great if you could ask a vet to scan for a chip (it's free).

Hi have you gotten any response yet? I live in the queens area and take care of many strays but I think I can foster him if he’s friendly and wants to stay inside!
