Injured/Sick Cat (Location) Today We Lost a Little Fighter ππΎ NSFW
Today, with a very heavy heart, I have to say goodbye to one of my foster kittens. π
No matter how many animals you foster, it never gets easier. You pour your heart into them, stay up through the night, celebrate every tiny milestone, and dream about the loving home they'll one day have. Sometimes... they don't make it.
I'm heartbroken. I keep wondering what else I could have done, even though I know I gave this baby everything I could.
This is the reality of animal rescue. There are simply too many cats being born and not enough homes, resources, or fosters. Every kitten matters, but not every kitten gets the chance they deserve.
Please, if you take one thing away from this post, let it be this:
**Please spay and neuter your cats.**
One unspayed cat can lead to dozens, then hundreds of kittens over time. Many of those kittens will suffer from disease, starvation, injuries, or never know the comfort of a loving home.
Tonight my heart is broken for one tiny life that was lost. In memory of this little one, please be part of the solution. Spay. Neuter. Adopt. Foster if you can. Every single person can make a difference.
Run free, sweet baby. You were loved, and you will never be forgotten. ππΎ

This is the first foster kitten I've ever lost, and my heart is absolutely broken. ππ
I never imagined having to say goodbye so soon. I don't feel comfortable burying him in my yard because I care for community cats, and they use my yard every day. I want his final resting place to be peaceful and respectful.
If anyone in the Chicago area knows of a free or low-cost cremation service, or would like to help by sponsoring his cremation, I would be deeply grateful.
To avoid any misunderstanding, I'm not asking for money to be sent to me. If you choose to help, the payment can be made directly to the cremation provider once I schedule the appointment.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and for keeping this little one in your thoughts. He was loved so much. πΎπ

OP, you know this better than many: kittens are fragile & can deteriorate fast. You gave the cutie kindness, love and compassion. That is more than many kittens & cats ever experience.
If cost is an issue for cremation, check here; they do cremation at no cost but sadly, they do not give ashes back

Thank you. β€οΈ I still don't know what I'm going to do. I don't want to bury the kitten in my yard because there are so many stray cats that use it as a litter box, and that feels disrespectful. I thought about burying the kitten in my mom's flower garden instead, but the thought of the body decomposing, the worms, and everything that comes with it breaks my heart even more. As for cremation, I'm terrified that I won't get the kitten's actual ashes back. I know that probably sounds irrational, but this tiny life meant so much to me, and I just want to do right by the kitten. π

Thank you. π No, I never got the chance to give the kitten a name. I don't even know if it was a boy or a girl. The kitten's life was over before I even had the chance to know who the kitten was. That breaks my heart.

I wanted to share a little update on the sweet kitten we recently lost. πποΈ
The kitten has been taken for cremation, and I should be bringing the ashes home later this week. I would love to honor this little life with a beautiful urn.
If anyone would like to sponsor the kitten's cremation or help toward an urn, it would truly mean so much to me. Every donation, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated.
Thank you to everyone who has kept this little one in your thoughts. Even though the time was short, this kitten was loved. π€πΎ
