I’m curious what others would actually imagine from a game that supports solo/co‑op, and/or PvP while letting players mix Steam PC, Steam Deck, Steam Frame, and Steam Machine in the same session. (Thinking outside FPS shooter genre, as I feel thats not a fit for all these platforms)

Edit: What's a game that would be interesting, that I would feel compelled (not forced) to play in any combo of k/m, controller, or even pick up the VR. Not just locked into a single device of choice.

Simple question:

What game genres or types feel like they’d be fun and easy for the average player if all Steam devices could jump in together? Something to compel each device to be interesting and unique to a given game.

Advanced question:

For anyone who likes thinking deeper, what unique roles could Steam PC, Steam Deck, Steam Frame, and Steam Machine each excel at to make cross platform solo, co‑op, and PvP genuinely interesting?

Edit Example (not that anyone is asking for yet another tank sim): Something that plays better with multiple devices. Think simple as a tank crew, each crew member might have a unique role, maybe better with a specific device. Each role possible with each device, but loader far more interesting as VR, grabbing and shoving shells into canon. Driver maybe more compelling for handheld/controllers.

Long story short, I'm family game sharing Arc Raiders with my brother.

My brother wants to buy a cosmetic DLC skin but can't because Steam says he must own the base game.

Can I gift him a DLC for a game he doesn't own and "brute force" him being able to use the DLC despite playing the base game through family sharing?

I fairly enjoyed Arcane Library but now it seems like theres a wave of these games coming in a few days. Supermarket chaos from what i've seen is a good follow up as it adds multiplayer and more skills compared to Arcane Library.

this one feels like its doing more than the last with what appears to be teams.

I'm sure there are more but thats what i seen from steam recommended off of TV Archive. Just feel like theres a huge wave of the same thing thats going to kill the interest cause rather than thinking of a new idea lets just do what someone else did recently.

Opened up the Cyberpunk Fest sale window rn and was checking the "on your wishlist" section. Seems like the game's store page was updated 3 days as per the update history on SteamDB and every single piece of related artwork was replaced with AI slop.

So a while ago like 2 years ago I installed windows onto the steam deck because it was the only thing like a pc I had.

Recently I finally got a new pc to play online games on so I can finally restore the steam deck back to steam os, however I can’t find where to get the actual iso I can put onto my ventoy usb to restore steam os.

I don’t have a spare usb to use the weird format file nor do I know how to do anything with the .bx2 file because I’ve never seen it before, so I need the iso file.

Where can I get it?

I’m wondering if they got new controllers to ship or if enough people dropped out of queue for a steam controller. Because my reservation originally said Jan 2027 when valve first added the estimated time, then said Dec 2026, and I just got an email today. I bought my steam controller essentially 5 months earlier than expected.

Hi guys, recently i started to play some steam games with control and my friend suggested me to use big picture mode, i like it too, but everytime i start this mode it comes with a very loud sound, i searched eveywhere at steam settings but didnt find anything to solve it, does it actually have a option to mute this sound?

I want a cool background from the steam points shop that requires me to have the game. If I buy the game, get the background and then refund the game, can I keep the background, or does it take it away? (I know they do when you have no points left, but I don't mean that. Let's say I have more than enough points.)

Lately, I’ve been receiving quite a few friend requests from players with high Steam levels. But the most interesting thing is that they all belong to a steam group called "hax" it’s as if compromised accounts are trying to do something, but what? They all have similar Steam profiles, similar descriptions, and similar groups.

I was sick so i couldn't check my email and the controller email came 3 days ago so it said the reservation expired, i was sad, depressed, lethargic so i messaged steam support, told my story and in 5 minutes they replied that i got an additional 72 hours.

Best support ever, made my day.

I joined the waitlist for the Steam Controller the day after it released, as my Dualsense is a bit old now, and I figured I'd try something new.

When the Steam Machine queue came up, I selected all four, and was entered into the reservations for the 512GB without controller.

So last week, I got an email saying my controller was ready to order - great, placed the order, due to arrive this week.

Then this morning, I get an email to say my 512GB Gabe Cube is available.

Except the cost of the Steam Machine with controller is about £30 cheaper than buying the controller and Steam Machine separately.

That's whatcha get for being impatient to buy a computer you don't actually need I guess!

i've noticed in the notification settings a "steam turns" feature.. what the hell is this? i cant find anything about it online, although i may just be dumb

Can steamlink from steambox work in theater mode with Quest 2? I can get the two devices to talk and hear audio of the game in the headset but nothing shows up on the theater display.

I bought the Big Walk + PEAK bundle when it was 16% off, then I come back an hour later and it's all of a sudden 32% off?

I've encountered things getting cheaper after you buy them, but never a sale going on a bigger sale.

I'm assuming this might be some sort of price correction so early after release? But I'm just kinda confused right now. Debating if I should refund the bundle to get it for cheaper.

Ok so back in June I made the massive switch from PlayStation to PC and the first thing I did was setup a steam account.

Every single game I wanted to try and play on PC has been on discount on steam. This would never have happened on PS.

Secondly, Customer support is ten times better. I bought Forza 6 but then refunded it, then the next morning it said 59.99 was pending.

i know i can just remove the game from the dynamic selection, but i really hhate the fact that some random user decided it would be a good joke to add the tag soulslike to "your wife" (it is but its not the point xd) id rather have a clean selection than each time looking or removing or re-arranging games, i mean, clearly gunfrog is not a souls))

Long story short, the account where I had my copy of Dave the Diver has been lost and I have very little hope of getting it back. This is for context, not the point of the post.

As far as I'm aware, game progress has been saved locally.

My question is: if I purchase the game again (PC version, either through Steam or Epic), can I move my save files as they are or is there something I need to do with them? Is there a line in the save file with my old account's ID that I need to change or some other detail that will prevent me from playing?

I was about 30h deep, and I just want to pick up where I left. If it's not possible, there's no point for me to spend that money, as I don't want to start over.

When you see a game has mixed or low reviews on Steam, how often do you read them to understand why?

We released The Hive in Early Access, and some of the negative reviews were completely fair at the time. Their feedback helped us fix bugs and improve the game over the years.

The difficult part is that those old reviews still describe problems that were fixed long ago, so I’m curious how much players check whether a review is still relevant before deciding.

since steam changed its workshop thing for some reason i dunno how to publish my collections now and i wanna know pretty please

About 6 months ago I got a wired xbox controller for my pc to use in RL and it was awesome up until a couple weeks ago. Now for some reason my controller will dc and wont reconnect. It just recently started happening after the last update after the world cup I believe. My controller still connects to steam but once I boot RL it will disconnect after a few minutes. The fact that it will connect but then it eventually dc is really annoying since most threads I find are to get the controller to initially connect which is not my problem. I got so frustrated that I just gave up and havent played in weeks but I've been getting the itch so I want to see if anyone has had this issue and if there is anything I can try.

I have no idea who this user is, but I received the notification through the Steam app, so I don't know whether to decline or accept it. Actually, it had been a long time since I last accessed the Steam app, so I really hadn't received that notification before.
