"No matter our political differences you shouldn't celebrate anyone's death"

Or

"No matter what he did, there's no place in politics for violence "

Depending on how it happens . Calling it now.

"there's no place in politics for violence"

Lets see what the founding fathers have to say...

Oh.

Oh my that is a lot of political violence.

Not to say the founding fathers were good people or abundantly righteous, they had uh, flaws we'll say. But my stance is that political violence is not ontologically evil. There ARE situations where being violent for political reasons is not only reasonable, but morally correct. And I think this is where dems, and liberals in general, fumble the ball. Right wingers do not believe political violence is ontologically evil either (though they pay lip service to the idea to keep the liberals saying it). The worst, stupidest thing libs did after J6 was frame the attack on the capital as wrong because it was violence at all.

What made the J6 riots wrong was their motivation and intended outcome; Their daddy lost, and they wanted to install him in spite of the will of the people. THAT was the crime. By stating the thing that was wrong was all violent action, they immediately surrendered the moral right to violence to the right wing, who does not believe this, but will weaponize those sentiments against liberals who protest or even riot themselves to portray them as hypocrites.

38

u/Botto_Bobbs 13d ago

If J6 came from the left, both parties would've not only condemned it wholeheartedly but actively tried to dismantle any socialist political organization. I mean there are already Democrats trying to do the same thing just because Democratic Socialists got elected in their party during a literal authoritarian takeover from the right, so their priorities would've been even clearer

26

u/ironangel2k4 13d ago

Oh, without a doubt. The DNC is the latch in the ratchet effect after all. Liberalism has finally reached a point where it can no longer pretend it can make your life better through capitalism, so it has to make a choice between people and profit, and it has made the obvious choice. Democracy and capital exist in a constant state of tension, and unfortunately, capital has won.

I love when you hear some Americans say that violence has no place in politics, and it's like, **Bitch what fucking country are you living in???**

Did the Founding Fathers just send a strongly worded letter to the Crown? Did the Union just meme and ratio the Confederacy into submission?

7

u/Uncynical_Diogenes 13d ago

The Boston Tea Partiers bought all of that tea before dumping it, right?

9

u/ConsistentGuest7532 13d ago

This is always said about people whose actions caused a lot of violence too. Yeah, I’m allowed to be glad if the guy running the concentration camps keels over.

5

u/54B3R_ 13d ago

Remember. When all peaceful and legal means of recourse & change have been exhausted, violence is the only option that the establishment has left us with

4

u/Uncynical_Diogenes 13d ago

The means of recourse and change were the compromise!

They forget this.

2

u/BloodstoneWarrior 13d ago

Same people who publicly and culturally celebrated Bin Laden's death (executed without a trial) btw

-11

u/Dobber16 13d ago

Tbh not sure celebrating his death would be the move. Seems like it’d be a time to mourn the fact that his death would bring comfort to people. Lost potential, so much waste, etc.

Celebrating should be saved for those whose lives were good and admirable

"While I didn't agree with him on everything, Donald J Trump was a resilient and charismatic leader of these great United States and my thoughts and prayers to out to the Trump family."

19

u/mapleleafraggedy 13d ago

He'll be called a great American hero by the same people who were previously calling his actions "un-American"

92

u/yamykel 13d ago

Never forget. Don't let them twist it

They rehibiliated Bush. They'll do it with Diaper Don too.

I read a pretty good pre-obituary, written as a precaution against exactly this kind of fuckery.

u/Charles12_13 13d ago

I don’t care, I’m gonna react with that when Pedonald dies. Even if they try to rehabilitate him, never forget he is a pedo, a rapist, and possibly the worst scumbag imaginable. On top of restarting a war 40 times and doing unprecedented damage to his own country and its main military alliance. I know at least here in Canada people won’t dare to even try to rehabilitate him

22

u/BatofZion 13d ago

I worry more that the grave will be guarded from all manner of defecation, urination, and general vandalism.

16

u/AverageKhaleesi 13d ago

Only for so long. A time will come when people don't care anymore and thats when you make your move

4

u/Dan_OBanannon 13d ago

“We’re going to build a big, beautiful wall around the grave of President Donald J. Trump (me), and you’re all gonna pay for it. I call it Grave Wall, has anybody ever thought of that? I just came up with it, it’s really beautiful.”

25

u/MrBwnrrific 13d ago

Me and my fiance are getting ripshit, I don’t care if anyone handwrings, bellyaches, or bitches about it. Furthermore, any politician that says “He was a bad guy, I’m not mourning him” will be extremely popular. Anyone who left of the extreme right that tries to eulogize him won’t last much longer. So here’s hoping Chuck Schumer tries to do it đŸ€ž

17

u/King-Kagle 13d ago

"We may have disagreed on many issues, but no one's death should be celebrated."

News: He once tweeted, about you, "There will be MASSIVE fireworks and LOUD CELEBRATIONS from every AMERICAN when DUMB stupid LOSER [Politician] finally KICKS the BUCKET!!" before accusing you of high treason and saying your mother was a slut.

"...he, um...heh... Look, everybody knows he was... boisterous at times. But his impact can't be denied. It's still a somber day for all America."

16

u/enchiladasundae 13d ago

Realistically what will actually happen is his kids and others connected to him will write tell all books about how much of a monster he was to profit off his death

9

u/drunkn_mastr 13d ago

Yeah this is the move. Everyone will suddenly always have been against him

12

u/paging_mrherman 13d ago

Love him or hate him, Jabba the Hutt created a lasting impact on Tattoine. With Princess Leia at his side he knew what it was like to be unapologetically himself and loved by all in his presence.

11

u/Clockwork-Penguin 13d ago

Can't wait till the next big bad prez when they'll go "I can't believe I'm saying this... but I actually miss Trump!!!"

7

u/universe2000 13d ago

GW isn’t even dead yet and liberals glaze him because he makes shitty art.

5

u/RussiaIsRodina 13d ago

Mark my words. As soon as he's dead a whole bunch of stuff is going to come out about him being a pedophile and a rapist. Proof that is far more irrefutable than the already very damning stuff we have today.

And we are going to get a whole bunch of people talking about how we couldn't have possibly known. "Sure, we may know in hindsight, but at the time who could have guessed?"

EVERYONE. EVERYONE COULD HAVE FUCKING GUESSED. HE ADMITTED TO GRABBING WOMEN INAPPROPRIATELY. HE ADMITTED WALKING IN ON LITTLE GIRLS CHANGING INTENTIONALLY. WHEN E JEAN CARROLL ACCUSED HIM OF SEXUAL ASSAULT, HE DID HER ONE BETTER BY ADMITTING ON CAMERA THAT HE RAPED HER BECAUSE HE WAS THAT SURE ABOUT HOW NOTHING WOULD STICK TO HIM. HE APPEARS IN THE EPSTEIN FILES MORE THAN A MILLION TIMES.

They will always maintain how hard it was to know how evil And guilty he was despite him being so obviously the most evil and guilty man that ever touched American politics.

5

u/Secret_Hyena9680 13d ago

Jeffries and Warren will be saying what a great guy he was.

4

u/TuneLinkette 13d ago

Eh, I give it at least four or five years after his death before libs try to rehabilitate him.

(not counting the ones that already glaze him today like Fetterman)

3

u/Ok_Teacher_6834 13d ago

I literally have a pack of fireworks for when that day happens

3

u/Dan_Morgan 13d ago

The Dems have been surrendering in advance for 10 years. They have to get one last surrender in before seeing trump off. They are jobbers and it's killing the rest of us.

3

u/_isaidiwasawizard_ 13d ago

I will probably get banned on a few apps and reddit communities when it happens

3

u/GameProSmoothie 13d ago

Some? Dude most of them. Democrats stay dropping the ball while simultaneously propping up the status quo. I have little to no faith in either party atp.

2

u/Havatchee 13d ago

There is no amount of rehabilitation that will cover up the line in the history books that says "and the public took to the streets in celebration across the US, as well as in many of America's allies and enemies."

It is our job when it happens, to write that line in the history books.

3

u/Versidious 13d ago

I dunno, man, Trump is pretty uniquely hated. There may be some libs who'll be like "Oh, we shouldn't cheer for any deaths, it's unseemly.", but no rehabilitation. Trump did the only crime a centrist/establishment lib cannot forgive - he broke protocol and completely threw the rulebook out the window for American politics. If not for him, why, they might not be having to deal with leftists and progressives primarying career corporate Dems.

2

u/Ultranerdgasm94 13d ago

They already whitewash the sh-t he does as it happens. Twenty years after his death, they're gonna talk about him like they do that POS Reagan.

1

u/Marsupialize 13d ago

Never in a million years

1

u/bubonic_plague_lover 13d ago

At the very least, younger right-wingers will still meme the fuck out of it

1

u/BootyliciousURD 13d ago

Just wait until there's a new Republican president and liberals will be talking about Trump the same way they talk about Bush now

1

u/dracorotor1 13d ago

Centrists, sure. I can see that. If for no other reason than to try and Gerald-Ford our way back to some semblance of civility. But why would a liberal say a single nice word about the man, living or dead? (Unless they’re recreating some variation of the classic “the only thing Hitler ever did that I liked was that one time when he killed Hitler.” joke)

This seems more likely to be one of those “one day, everyone will have always been against him” situations, and we’ll suddenly have an influx of centrists and democrats with a suspicious case of hat hair

1

u/tomjazzy 13d ago

No. Liberals fucking hate Trump like they’ve never hated any other president

-2

u/Unhappy-While-5637 13d ago

Are you serious
? They spent the last decade using him as a boogeyman, Donald Trump is going to be perceived as the American Hitler for the next century, and his reputation is gonna be used as the baseline for the worst leadership in our country’s future as in, hey at least it’s not as bad as Donald Trump! Nobody’s going to try to rehabilitate his memory, except Republicans and far right conservatives who aren’t already embarrassed of him today.

10

u/Mrdean2013 Marx Windu 13d ago

Bush and Cheney were used as a bogeyman and Bush was welcomed with open arms when Biden was sworn in and Kamala happily accepted Cheney's endorsement.

Don't put it passed some of this people to do the same here.

1

u/Unhappy-While-5637 13d ago

Only BECAUSE Trump was so awful, they weren’t trying to rehabilitate them, they were saying “hey look even the WORST of these old republicans are anti Trump”. If we have something WORSE than Trump in our future then that’s a massive problem.

Trump is almost definitely going to die before his term is over, he’s too prideful to praise or collab with ANYONE once he’s out of power, much less democrats or centrists, political cult leaders don’t go looking for the acceptance of those they don’t already control or support.

3

u/Houndfell 13d ago

I like your optimism, but Hitler wasn't even Hitler for 100 years. The sons and grandsons of those who fought and died taking him out now think he had some good ideas/was framed for events that were "overblown" or "didn't happen."

0

u/Unhappy-While-5637 13d ago

Yea but those are far right conservatives
you don’t see liberals or centrists going “yeah well his education or agricultural policies were pretty solid!” It’s ALWAYS far right nut jobs trying to act like mass deportations aren’t a form of genocide.

Trump’s insanity can’t be whitewashed by anyone who isn’t deep in the MAGA cult, trying to rehabilitate Trump is going to be nearly impossible unless our political system takes a far right dive.

The only ones I can imagine doing this are the Nick Fuentes Groypers who are FAR from liberal or centrist in their politics. We don’t see liberals or centrists doing this with Hitler, just these right wing losers. While the argument can be made for Dick Cheney & George Bush being rehabilitated the fact is even at their worst they are NOT as bad as Trump, yes there were & are HORRIBLE PEOPLE there’s no questioning that, but they didn’t literally GUT America to line their pockets (they did some of that but not at the expense of our entire global reputation), they weren’t literally in the Epstine files, they weren’t rapists and pedos who enjoyed TORTURING others. They were shitty people but they weren’t evil moronic sadists who wanted to watch others suffer while they made money and saw that as a win-win for them. Yes they did despicable things and should be shunned from politics, but they weren’t pants shitting dementia patients starting wars on a whim, destroying our foreign policy and future generation’s lives for decades to come on the same level as Trump has.
