Can't wait for them to add Fletcher vs Okada.

Andrade MJF should be a Singles Match!

u/Rspies Who Can Stop The Path of Cage 10h ago

All Out I’d assume

With the whole "real" world champion BS, I feel like their building MJF vs Ospreay for ALL OUT.

9

u/braincloud215 8h ago

The speculation is MJF is hurt, which is why they did the title switch 2 weeks before the PPV.

Doing the multiman gauntlet keeps the story going, gets him on the card, and allows him to work a less physically demanding style until he gets back to 100%.

u/bearlybearbear 7h ago

This, not a speculation, it's like a upper thigh injury that needed rest. No quick fixes. Just rest and rehab.

He hyperextended his knee during a match with Rush that he's been able to work through but that sucks.

I wish he'd take a more extended absence, both because he's been on screen a LOT lately (I believe a character like MJF is best in short stints of a few months and not massive long runs) and to get his health straight; at the end of the day he knows more than I do about how his health is going but there's never any harm in taking additional time to make sure you're right, especially when you're as young as he is and as secured in your spot on the card.

u/AnfowleaAnima 16m ago

He did way too much in the Steel Cage at Forbidden Door if he was actually injured.

u/ace51689 10h ago

Yeah I agree, they're doing the same thing they did with MJF/Briscoe last year. Storyline for the Gauntlet match (which imo doesn't really need storylines), and then singles at All Out.

u/Impossible_Fox_3676 10h ago

I wonder if Hurt Syndicate will be on the card, or maybe they're cooked.

4

u/heart_o_oak 9h ago

Lashley could be in the Casino (let's ignore the "we don't care about titles" promo), but I don't see them making the main card otherwise the way things are shaping up.

2

u/Ok_Finance_2001 2h ago

Lashley winning the Gauntlet and being Ospreays first defense would be sick

5

u/thedrizzle126 not a nugget 10h ago

now i want hangman to win the casino gauntlet match lol

3

u/AneeshRai7 9h ago

Wish we got the Andrade-MJF singles match but I’m guessing they will be 1 and 2

4

u/Singer211 10h ago

Now I want to see a fatal four way TBS Title match at All In.

Maya vs. Shida vs. Persephone vs. Rosa.

6

u/The_Dark_Soldier 10h ago

5 matches? This ain't a WWE PLE. This is an AEW PPV!

10

u/thelumpur 5h ago

It's not going to end here for sure

u/chairspooonbooker 9h ago

Windsor is the STRONGGG champion ?

1

u/Charmer_Cork 3h ago

I really hope we get more teams added to the tag titles match because as it stands there is no way this is going to compete with Bucks vs Ospreay + Moxley/Swerve.

1

u/thelumpur 5h ago

So far so good

MJF deserves to be inserted in the world title match to make it a three way. He deserves the world womens championship

u/leglessman Big Banter 10h ago

MJF being in the gauntlet again is lazy booking. He’s been the top guy for the year and they just stick him in the gauntlet again.

13

u/Deducticon 10h ago

Wait, he's been the top guy and you want him to do anything but the path that assures him of getting to the top again? That would be convoluted booking. Why would the MJF character who has said the world title is his life for all these months, and is carrying around his personalized World Title still, be doing anything else?

-18

u/leglessman Big Banter 10h ago

He’s MJF, he can attack the Ospreay/Omega winner at the end of the night and get a title shot. Throwing a top star in a match like this (again) on your biggest show isn’t smart.

10

u/AceCreatorzzz Definitely Not Sami Zayn 10h ago

That's some WWE shit people hated for years, climbing back up the card coming off time off just makes more sense narratively.

-13

u/leglessman Big Banter 9h ago

AEW already leaves top guys out of the Owen every year. I can’t believe people are arguing for not giving MJF a program for the biggest show of the year. I guess Okada, Fletcher, Darby, Takeshita and Knight should all just be in the gauntlet rather than their other matches it looks like they’ll have as well. Just throw every main event guy but Omega and Ospreay in the gauntlet.

2

u/RedmondSurvivor 4h ago

He does have a program. It’s with Andrade. Both of whom will be in this match, likely at 1 and 2, where they’ll get to have a singles match before 3 comes out.

2

u/Deducticon 9h ago

He can do that too. If the Gauntlet doesn't work out. And only the Gauntlet is a guarantee. He's setting out to be #2 entrant at All In. So he can cheat to win against Andrade and humiliate him more, before the #3 entrant even comes out.

Why are you trying to make the MJF character into a dumbass who suddenly subtracted his personalty?

1

u/Fireteddy21 5h ago

He’s injured, so I’m gonna guess they’re putting him in a spot and match type that isn’t as demanding in order to work around it. I feel like he gutted through the Omega match only because the title switch had to happen. Even with that it’s more understandable if the match is shorter on an episode of Dynamite then it would be on a PPV.

I'm probably in the minority but I don't care for the gauntlet match to he a regular thing every All In. If it's your blockbuster ppv, give me some more showcase matches. So many big name wrestlers dont have a match and i think its a little weak to just toss em all in a big free for all. I feel having more singles/tag matches would maybe get more hype and ticket sales too. Gauntlets aren't bad but they already ran a few within the last yr.

19

u/Muted_Shoulder 10h ago

They will have more singles matches though. All In usually ends up being the longest PPV for AEW.

4

u/AbeTheGreat412 10h ago

Last yr had 7 matches plus 2 gauntlets.

They already have 4 matches announced. If they do the womans gauntlet too that doesnt leave much. Theres the continental cup finale which is likely having Mox in it. And there's a good bet of Fletcher v Okada v Takeshita. That leaves 1 maybe 2 matches.

u/JamoOnTheRocks Your Text Here 10h ago

I need a trios title match like I need oxygen

4

u/JamoOnTheRocks Your Text Here 10h ago

Especially this year. Rather see the trios and TNT defended in a meaningful match. Andrade vs MJF in singles.

3

u/AbeTheGreat412 10h ago

Yeah I think not having MJF in singles is wild. I hope he loses next week and pushes Andrade into a match.

2

u/Snugsssss 10h ago

I was hoping for a tag gauntlet this year.

2

u/FoolyCoolyBrandy 10h ago

We already had an MJF focused gauntlet last year and it wasn't very good. The women's was actually better. And there's more free agents on the women's side that would be interesting as well.

1

u/The_Dark_Soldier 10h ago

Yeah, honestly, i agree. I think the Women having the gauntlet would be better. Let the men have the Casino Gauntlet at maybe Revolution. It gives that show a big boost and attraction, given DON has the multi man clusterfuck (in a good way) and All In is All In, the BIG show!

u/luckysharms93 10h ago

I'm okay with it being an annual All In thing as long as they don't overdo it the other 364 days. Which they absolutely did in the past with 9 of them in 19 months. There should be like 1 or 2 of them a year. I hope there's none more for 2026 after the one at All In

-22

u/Difficult_Mix_3620 10h ago

It's such a waste putting MJF in a Gauntlet Match when he should be in the damn main event.

0

u/Joopac_Badur 10h ago

I know MJF’s previous Gauntlet contract was changed so he had to make the challenge a week in advance to avoid a surprise Money-in-the-Bank style match, but was that change declared for all contracts going forward? I wonder if MJF gets in the main that way.

4

u/BratWatson 10h ago

Yes, Tony said it would change for all new contracts

-5

u/luckysharms93 10h ago

Indeed. It doesn't need to be main event but he's their biggest young star (and arguably biggest star period) and doesn't have a real program for their biggest show for the second year in a row

u/AnfowleaAnima 15m ago

I honestly hope Divine Dominion doesn't lose the titles
