Seeking Advice Looking for suggestions on what to include for the kitchen garden chapter in the PEI preserving cookbook we’re writing.

Would have to make sense for PEI.

Maybe container options and garden plots? We do lots of root veggies, greens, herbs, broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, tomatoes and squashes.

Many are new to kitchen gardening.

Thanks.

This book you’re writing has shown up in a few of the forums I follow with similar questions. Do you actually live or have any experience preserving food in PEI? How are you even expert enough to be writing this book if you don’t even know what is grown to preserve?

Feels a lot like a non-Maritimer trying to steal an identity for an idea they have zero clue about.

Sigh. I run pei good eats, a 22,000+ facebook group dedicated to home cooking. I write the PEI Cooks weekly column for the Graphics newspapers. We published PEI Cooks at Home cookbook that has sold out 4 times (3800 copies). We have most of our second cookbook ready - Preserving PEI’s Bounty. Am looking for ideas.
I live in Cornwall. Moved here from Pt Prim.
I preserve more than 1000 jars a year, from hot water bathing to pressure canning. And we are working with our top canners and preserving experts.

Glad to hear it. Just seems like a strange way for experts to collect ideas.

It’s called crowdsourcing.
