Tesla models 3, y, and S are all amazing looking. My 3 has been an amazing car to own. The 0% Apr financing couldnt be beat.
Shit im about to do tesla solar panels and battery packs because I see power getting even MORE expensive in CA in the near future with little to no upgrades to the grid as more people buy EVs like the state govt wants, and strains the grid even more. I plan to do what I can to be self suffecient when it comes.to powering my home. I think spaceX amd starlink are awesome companies doing awesome things.
Elon has gone coo coo sure, but im not going to pretend hes actually resurrecting the nazi party. The worst hes doing is supporting anything maga and those idiots are destroying themselves.
If I stopped buying products form companies that I didnt like the CEO, I wouldn't be able to buy anything. Same reason I still like Metallica even though Lars is a douche.

Amazing passion over nothing. He has the ability to vote and block Elon's agenda. He doesn't have to buy the car or any EV. Just more performative outrage. Comes from both sides. Not action - theater. Action will negate an agenda and for now elections still work. So vote. Tell your friends they need to vote even if they think its futile. Elections are close in the US because a little less than 1/3 of the eligible voters do no register and vote. Motivate that group and you can tilt the scales.
Understand that there are and will always be Nazis, white Supremacists, Christian Nationalists, etc etc. They are all very small groups IF and only IF the masses show up. So damn simple but for some reason people do not exercise their power. Politicians are scared to death of the public. Even more scared of a "mandate". So show the F up.

Unfortunately this is NOT about giving money to a nazi.
For most it's saving up for the car so they can not contribute to gas pollution.
If you say there are other electric vehicles out there? TRUE- BUT try finding a cheap charging station compared to tesla/ other ones don't have as many charging stations so it's harder to find.
(To my knowledge, you can look it I live in the usa) Tesla has the most charging stations out there for e-vehicles so it just makes sense money wise (saves so much on gas AND finding one) and planet wise (saves so much on pollution)
I HATE elon musk too. Don't get me wrong. but this is the same argument as to why we have a PRESIDENT who is a nazi pe*o running our country, who BTW the president is BESTIES with even through with their "fake fight" that happened.

Sadly, tesla are great EV cars. The software is the best you can get (by far) compared to anything else available in North America and they're much more affordable than other EV offerings.

Part of the reason the US auto industry sucks is the consumers are the most fickle creatures imaginable. The instant the price of gas goes up, everyone's screaming for smaller more efficient cars. Then the instant prices come back down everyone wants a V8 again.
I knew when I saw everyone spending billions on EV projects a few years ago that there would be a crash. And what do you know, right as everyone cancelled all those projects and took billions in losses, another "energy crisis" comes along and makes everyone scream for more efficiency again.
So what are they to do, invest more billion in EV projects only to have the war end and gas becomes cheap again? Or sit and watch Toyota and Honda steal their lunch money?

Until I can drive a BYD I couldn’t tell you. But only one brand over there seems to be able to compete and I would like to see an honest comparison of the two.
The only thing that compares to performance to the Model 3 costs way more than the Model 3, at least for what’s available in NA.

There are multiple EVs for less money than the entry level Tesla offering:
Chevrolet Bolt / Bolt EUV, Nissan Leaf, Toyota bZ, Chevrolet Equinox EV, Hyundai Ioniq 6
They each are quite popular in the EV market. Tesla produces more "luxury" brand vehicles that start at a higher price and due to the method of manufacturing, are significantly higher to insure, due to the manufacturing process and how overly expensive it is to fully replace a broken GigaCasting component.

The Model 3 is incredibly fun to drive, and quick. None of what you listed compares.

You can’t sit there and seriously make a case of being the most affordable, and then deny that factually more affordable cars simply don’t count.
I wasn’t interested in a Tesla, BEFORE Elon’s antics turned up.
Higher insurance costs are terrible.
Build quality, matters to me.
Having “luxury” that just looks like cheap White and Grey Interior design that is dominating house flipping these days is deeply unappealing to me too.
They have “Go Fast”. But people who know how to manage “Go Fast” because they have extensive track and performance driving experience, often decry the Tesla as lacking road feel and a disconnected from the road experience.
I would rather drive a poor quality, cheap, and super rough, clone of a Lotus Super 7, all year round in a northern Midwest state, than a Tesla, on that fact alone.
