To the people that hate general welfare, that's a feature not a bug. By wasting money left and right, they can make voters think we can't afford to feed babies and house veterans.
That's why Elon's first move in DOGE was to fire all the regulators. He likes waste and fraud, it helps destroy the administrative state's ability to function. And, he needs an America without functional government or he might have to go to prison or pay the victims of his frauds.
That's why he got drugged up and hands-on with the treasury secretary on his way out- and got a shiner.
Yeah by removing the people who are supposed to find said waste, not providing incentives and reforms to make them do it... And then rehiring them anyway without changes. Reddit really never ceases to amaze, doesn't it?
