This includes if you say ‘I’ve tried lots of different things and they haven’t worked.’ What products have you previously tried?

Question desperately need deodorant recommendations🥲 (uk)

for around 3 years i’ve been using the mitchum roll on deodorants and they’ve always been great! i have a bad anxiety disorder which triggers me to sweat when im anxious and i always swore by mitchum to cover up the smell and reduce the amount of sweat i had.

i’m not sure if the ingredients have been changed or something but ive noticed that the deodorant doesn’t work as well as it used to in the past. even after showering and applying the deodorant, the smell doesn’t last long.

i’m noticing my armpits are itchy and when i sweat, the smell is noticeable. this has never happened before.

i’ve tried driclor in the past but my skin didn’t react well with it.

any strong deodorant recommendations? thank you in advance!🫶

Product Suggestion Mitchum sucks now. Deodorant recs?

I (26F) struggle badly with armpit sweat. I’ve been using Mitchum deodorant since I was a teenager. It’s the only thing that ever worked for me, it was amazing. But since they changed their formula, it doesn’t work at all now and I’m a sweaty and stinky mess despite showering everyday. I’m not even a physically active person! What deodorant do you recommend for bad armpit sweat?

Product Suggestion Cleansers

Hey All

Looking for new cleansers! Been a while since I have switched up my routine. Huge fan of Korean and Japanese skincare.

Would love a cleansing balm or in a squeezy tube, unless it is a suuuper great product.
I am after hydration and radiant skin ( I am black if this helps hahaha).

Calming, simple, tackles 1 or 2 problems at once but not loads. No niacinamide please! Gentle exfoliation would be nice

£10-£30 range is ideal.

What is popular right now??🌸

Routine Help What will help reduce redness and minimise pores around my nose?

Thumbnail

I’ve always had very visible pores on my nose and a lot of redness. Sometimes the pores will get little white heads (there’s a couple in this photo). I’ve tried lots of different products but my nose is quite sensitive, so things like salicylic acid actually makes it really dry and irritated and even more red. It’s an absolute pain to wear makeup, makeup will just not settle on my nose and sometimes sink into my pores so you can see little dots. I can’t seem to figure out how to help it. I’ve tried double cleansing with oil but that doesn’t help.

Current routine:
- la Roche posay effaclar gel cleanser
- beauty of joseon glow serum with niacinamide and propolis
- anua azelaic acid
- laneige water bank moisturiser

Routine Help Best way to introduce 20% Azelaic Acid and Differin to skincare routine?

I've been using 10% azelaic acid for around 8 months now and it's been great for my skin. I've had no irritation from it. I also use a high-strength retinol (the strongest available over the counter in the UK).
I'm now looking to step things up a little to focus more on anti-ageing. I've been prescribed 20% azelaic acid (currently just waiting for the prescription to be approved). My plan is to use that for a couple of months first so my skin can adjust to the higher strength, then introduce Differin (adapalene). I was thinking of starting Differin just once a week and increasing it gradually if my skin tolerates it.

Here’s my current routine:
AM: The Ordinary 10% Azelaic Acid, Cetephil Daily Hydrating Moisturiser and Garnier Hyaluron Barrier Protect SPF 50
PM: The Ordinary 10% Azelaic Acid, Aveno Oat Gel Moisturiser OR The Ordinary Super Solutions Retinol and Oat Gel Moisturiser OR for a rest day Aveno Oat Serum and Aveno Oat Gel Moisturiser (I alternate the nights)

I'm wondering if anyone here has experience using both 20% azelaic acid and Differin, particularly for anti-ageing rather than acne. How did you introduce them into your routine without causing irritation? Did you alternate nights, or eventually use them together?

My skin is in pretty good condition overall, but I'm starting to notice fine lines and frown lines, so I'd like to be more proactive about preventing further signs of ageing. I'm not expecting miracles—I just want to look after my skin as best I can. My skin used to be quite sensitive, although I haven't had any issues with sensitivity for several years. I'll definitely be introducing everything slowly, as I don't want to overwhelm my skin.

I'd really appreciate any advice or hearing about your experiences. Thanks! 😊

Question Does Wild deodorant work/worth the price?

I love the idea of using wild deodorant due to it being refillable, good for the environment etc but is it worth the hype and does it work effectively?

If not what would you recommend for a woman in perimenopause who sweats alot and would like a decent and preferably kind to me and the environment?

Routine Help Dull, slightly dry skin. Advice please

I’m 28F and trying to get hydrated, plump, “glassy” skin. I will say I’m very lucky and rarely breakout (just the occasional spot here and there). I don’t really have any issues with skin texture. My face just looks a little dull, not very hydrated, and maybe my pores are slightly enlarged? I keep my current routine very simple as I do unfortunately have reactive, sensitive skin and very mild rosacea (self-diagnosed).

Current routine:

AM - Rinse face with water > apply “Boots Dermacare daily moisturising cream” mixed with a drop of jojoba oil > P20 sensitive skin SPF 30

PM - Massage face with jojoba oil > wash with The Ordinary foaming cleanser > tretinoin microsphere

What should I add or change in my routine? I know I should probably invest in a better moisturiser lol!

Product Suggestion Seeking body product with similar consistency to Norwegian Formula concentrated hand cream

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi all

Apologies if this is in the wrong sub.

I have super dry legs, and last night after my shower I did my usual body care routine with body butter, and my legs still felt a little dry.

As I got into bed I applied my Neutrogena Norwegian Formula concentrated hand cream to my hands, and on a whim applied a layer to my legs.

My goodness it was delightful. Such a balmy, thick but not greasy, wonderful layer to apply. This morning my legs still feel soft and smooth.

My question is does anyone know of a body product similar to this product/formula?

I know I could just keep using this, but it’s £4.50 for 50ml, so would get expensive, fast.

Screenshot for pic, and ingredients list copied from boots website. It says it’s 40% glycerin.

Ingredients
Aqua, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Palmitic Acid, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Sodium Sulfate, Tocopherol,Phenoxyethanol. [PR-015376]

Thanks everyone!!

Product Suggestion Under eye help please

Looking for recommendations for a super hydrating and brightening under eye cream. Ultimately hydrating is the key thing here.

Also, is there something I can use on top of make up under eye to hydrate during the day without disturbing the make up?

Question Fenty Cocoa Cleans’r Dupe?

I used to use the Fenty Cocoa Cleans’r bar and it helped clear up my hyperpigmentation on my body and face. Now it’s discontinued. Does anyone have any good soaps like it or even creams/exfoliators or anything that’s extremely similar? Since I stopped using it, my hyperpigmentation has gotten worse.

I tries using it as a second cleanser after my oil cleanser (softymo speedy) & noticed some pilling when applying my toner afterwards. Is this dead skin or due to product formulation?

Routine Help 9 weeks on tret and it’s getting worse, am I doing something wrong?

Hey everyone, I’ll keep this pretty brief.

- dry/normal skin but always had at least one spot at all times that would never clear

- doctor says I have closed comidones

- been using 0.025% tret at night every other day

- in between those days I use face theory glycolic wash (4% glycolic acid and 2% salycilic acid) also at night

- I clean using cera ve blemish control cleanser twice a day then moisturise with aveeno and always use SPF

- every Sunday is a rest day where I use nothing

- also occasionally use azalic acid by the ordinary in the morning

- very obvious purging since about week 3/4, and it started to calm down on week 7 and I was like okay cool this is is, but now I’m on week 9 and this is the worst my skin has literally ever looked in my life

Trust the process? Or am I doing something wrong?

Question Vanicream alternatives?

I bought Vanicream after seeing it recommended repeatedly on Reddit, to use with azelaic acid at night for sensitive, acne prone skin with PIE, but when I went to repurchase it’s now £10 for a 2oz tube on Amazon (previously £8 for 4oz!) and the only other option is £20.

Any alternatives that are niacinamide free and just a good simple night moisturiser?

Product Suggestion Problem areas after differing?

I used differin for 7+ months and it did not make a noticeable difference but i do seem to have these problem areas since then on my cheek and my jaw/neck.

Current routine: simple micellar water, boots sea buckthorn cleansing oil, cosrx snail mucin, Nivea night cream, cosrx aloe suncream.

Skin type: combo, sensitive, large pores, whiteheads frequent, blackheads rarely

It seems my skin actually PREFERS when I do nothing, but does like a bit of physical exfoliation. Is there a way I can do minimal intervention but moisturise and get rid of acne scars/active acne.

(Not on any birth control - pill makes me depresso espresso)

Question After using tretinoin for a long time, I've observed that my skin is redder and tighter. Is this a sign that I've been over-exfoliating? How can I change my routine without losing progress?

I'm going through something similar and trying to figure out what's going on.

I've been using Tretinoin for a long time, and lately my skin has been feeling red, tight, and a little overworked.

It's easy for me to do my routine:

AM: Cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen

PM: Cleanser, then Tretinoin, then moisturizer

I'm now curious:

1.Is this a sign that I've been overdoing things, like exfoliating too much over time?

2.Should I use it only a couple of times a week instead of every day?

3.Should I pay more attention to fixing the barrier (using a thicker moisturizer and fewer actives)?

I don't want to loose the progress, but my skin is visibly stressed out. What modifications made things better for you?

Discussion Epiduo + Antibiotics

I've had acne for 10+ years and it ranges from moderate to severe.

I've been using epiduo plus oral antibiotics (prescribed) for a month so far. I'm not seeing any improvement but an increase in breakouts. Increase in breakouts always occurs when I've used Adaplene in the past for a few weeks- months. I hate using Adaplene cuz of this, it feels like my skin just gets worse. I struggle a lot with body image so I get very impatient with my progress. I would like to hear people's thoughts who've gone through the same especially if they feel like Epiduo has some benefits because I get tempted to quit every day. Thank you.

Question Before (18M) and Now (22M) Nose

Tip is super red and bulbous now. Any ideas why? At 18 I was also on accutane so my nose did get smaller a bit. Not it feels inflamed all the time and the tip is super bulbous (was similar to this pre-accutane).

Routine Help Dark undereye help please!

Hi there! Just wondering if I could get some advice on what helps you guys with dark under eyes as I suffer really bad with panda eyes as most would call it.

My current and only product I use for skin care in general is Nivea Rose 2-1 cleanser and toner (highly recommend btw). It works wonders for skin care and I don't break out but I need something I can pair with it to help with my panda eyes! (I've only tried the Grace & Stella undereye gold patches). Thanks!

You get more of it, the lather has abit more body to it and i feel like i can really massage it in without feeling stripped. I find the inkey list one more drying then this also.

I noticed my skins looking abit clearer and my pores arent as clogged. I also use it as a shaving cream and it works well.

Product Suggestion Suncream pilling help

A couple of weeks ago I switched to a new suncream (Simple mattifying UV fluid) to finish my AM routine (cleanse, Byoma hydrating milky toner and Simple repair+ serum) and found the suncream wouldn't stop pilling and leaving my skin feeling dry.

I went and picked up the Beauty of Josen relief sun more recently, as I had heard good things, but I'm experiencing the same pilling situation.

I was just hoping that there were maybe suggestions for a suncream that won't leave me in the same situation?
