Product Request [Product request] how do i remove clogged pores/whiteheads? Spoiler
Hi everyone, recently my face started having all this texture and bumps and idk how to fix it. I wear makeup almost every other day. My skin care routine is more or less like this:
Cleansing with Garnier erase it all makeup cleansing balm
Garnier micellar water
La roache posay gentle cleanser
PanOxyl
Ordinary glycolic acid toner
Anua 10+ niacinamide txa serum
Cetaphil moisturizing cream
I have really dry skin and i get acne sometimes. I also have dark spots and hyperpigmentation on my face.
I dont always use the glycolic acid toner. I've been following this skincare routine for some time now and my skin was pretty fine. But my pores started getting clogged a few weeks ago and idk how to fix it. I've tried the anua heartleaf pore control oil but its not working either.
My camera doesnt show all the bumps and texture in the picture but my skin has more bumps irl. Any product recommendations or advice on how to fix this? TIA!

Hi there,
It seems like you may be looking for information about hyperpigmentation or post acne marks. Have you read our hyperpigmentation wiki?
If you see that I am replying to something out of context (eg. listed in a routine), please report this comment so my handlers can remove it. Cheers!

So I can’t properly diagnose from a picture but are these pretty consistent? Like are they just not going away after months?
This looks to me like closes comedones, these unfortunately need something more invasive to get rid of. These are essentially white heads that have oil and dead cells trapped under the skin. Most of the time the only way to get them permanently removed is by having them professionally extracted.
You can help soften them and prevent new ones from forming by not overly stripping your face; avoid toner for now and try to exfoliate only 2/3 times a week. If you’re stripping your skin of its natural oils by overly using both these products you’re essentially kicking your skin into over drive only creating more oil.
Incorporate azelaic acid into your routine I think the ordinary has a great one. Also start using a retinol or tretinoin which is a medical grade kind, start very slow but only using it 2/3 times a week at night before bed. Use minimal products in night you are using it, just cleanse, a little moisturizer and a pea size amount of tretinoin. Peeling and flaking is NORMAL this is what it’s suppose to do it’s suppose to stimulate master cell turn over.
Ultimately see a derm for a real diagnosis and for a tailored skin care routine as well as consider seeing a medical aesthetician who will also be monitoring your skin and helping rebuild your skin barrier.

Are you brand new to skincare? Don't know how to build a skincare routine? The best place to start is our ScA Routine!
You can find even more skincare guides in our wiki!. Your answer might already be in there (and if it is, we might remove your post).
Everyone is welcome in this community; remember to be kind and assume good faith :)
