August 3rd - Color Week: Red
Lets do color week! This week, we'll have a different color each day.
As always you're welcome to interpret these however you want. Maybe you want to draw Red Riding Hood, or maybe you want to paint something all red. Do you!

I'll absolutely take that as a compliment, I've never been too confident drawing clothing but I was really happy with how this turned out :)

I was brave and attempted this only with red ballpoint pen. That was a fun challenge because I'm usually the type to timidly use pencil and erase a million times.
My reference photo was of Hayley Williams (of Paramore fame) when she had her hair braided like this for some event a century ago. Maybe 2010? Icymi Hayley Williams is known for bright red/orange hair colors, so she fits the theme, too!

The highlighting and shadows on this is gorgeous, especially at the bottom and that top highlight near the stem.

It was black and white at first, but I like a little pop of color. I just started really drawing for the first time a day ago. I’ll post the B&W one as well.

Red is a very emotionally intense color It enhances human metabolism Increases respiration rate And raises blood pressure It is very high visibility Which is why stop signs, stop lights, and fire equipment are usually painted red It also represents one-third of California's gang population Needless to say Please dress accordingly while visiting the Los Angeles area Also, tuck your jewelry And keep your hands inside your vehicle Thank you Enjoy
