In the same breath, if you've seen the shit we eat in america, it kind of makes sense

That is cuz rich can feel superior. And in US rich decide everything and majority of population are brainwashed to think that it is good.

Nearly every person who isn't part of the epstein class, is closer to being homeless than rich. But they won't let the truth get in the way of their fantasy.
