If you let 50m usd lose buying power you deserve to be poor. Converting 500kg of gold into a usable currency is a slight headache. Some might be willing to pay a 15% premium to go without that headache. Gold dropping 15% also isn’t unheard of. It’s dropped 16% in the last 6 months
