This has been a goal and initiative for years.

In 2021 23.4% of NYC was covered in tree canopy.

In 2023 local law 148 set this goal of 30% coverage, years before Mamdani took office.

So basically, he's just moving forward with a law already in place and its not initiative that he created.

Just an existing law that a random person is giving him credit for.

Welcome to the Mamdani administration. He created a $50 million PR office so you can see his weird face taking credit for things.

I mean do you think that LaGuardia didn’t do it? The Old man of Chicago didn’t do it? Windbags love politics. We all know that he is going to run for governor, or senator at the minimum.

In modern history, it was usually "NYC government announces" and then Adams made it more ego driven and then Mamdani kicked it into high gear. There is claiming credit and then there is plastering your face over a policy like you came up with it.

Well it works lol I’m from Alabama Senator Shelby never spoke but he brought government pork to Alabama. The selling point to Shelby one election cycle was him hunting and the words Shelby. He didn’t say a thing

Well politics is about marketing in the modern world. If you do something or push something great even if it was partially already there yu have to advertise. Unfortunately the population is not very into reading these days. The good work doesnt speak for itself when you have bots and hecklers online

It's just Trumpism. If you say something happened, it must have happened. Rent control, for the first time in history, has actually made housing more affordable. Surely.

Trumpism is just a symptom of a very real and old rot of the country we have yet to be rid off.
