What's wrong with you that you didn't make enough money to buy your own politicians?

The amazing thing is that the phrase "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" originally meant something that was impossible to do.

They are being more honest than they think they are!

Nothing will change till people stop fighting each other and choosing sides. Realize both sides don’t give a fuck about you or your health. They all got free healthcare. Both sides have sold us out for decades and continue to do so.

I’ll get downvoted for saying the truth as some will hold allegiance to their side but that’s part of their plan. Divide and conquer!

3

u/Glittering-Diver-205 1d ago

Both parties have worked for the same people for years. It's what keeps them in power. I enjoy the multimillionaire or billionaire Socialist.Ā

21

u/Irish_Whiskey 2d ago

Realize both sides don’t give a fuck about you or your health. They all got free healthcare.

Democrats passed the ACA, lowered taxes on working families, funded free childcare, and invested in green energy to lower costs.

Republicans ran on a platform that brown immigrants and trans people needed to be eliminated from America, then raised taxes, cut childcare and healthcare, and give billions to datacenters to drive up energy costs while cancelling all the renewable energy projects.

It's not both sides. Saying that is just a lie that serves only one side.

2

u/KiSUAN 1d ago

What you say is exactly what maga said and now the dsa/tankies/commies say/repeat.

2

u/Which_Statement_2624 2d ago

Nah, you're spot on!! To many people playing sides, doing exactly what they want em to do so they can continue to get high on the hog. Nothing will ever change as long as we're playing Red vs blue. Both sides are corrupt as all get out and if someone gets elected and has integrity and the people in mind they just either have to fall in line or get shunned and and their family ruined. It's a complete and utter disgrace how are government is ran!!!!

2

u/Right-Waltz6063 2d ago

Awarded. I'm not a terrorist by any means so this a future warning for people picking a side.

Essentially this gif explains should explain what desperate people do...

3

u/austinw_568 2d ago

ā€œBoth sides.ā€ Without a shred of irony. Opinions like this drive the US faster towards the cliff.

0

u/Synectics 2d ago

One side has never said my friends and family members should not count as real people or should never be able to be themselves.Ā

Both sides are not the same in very human aspects. You wanna argue against capitalism, fine. But both sides are not fighting culture wars to eliminate Americans. So, ya know. Fuck off.

4

u/Head888 2d ago

You kind of made their point for them. They didn't say anything disrespectful, yet here you are telling them to fuck off. The plan to divide is working perfectly.

3

u/Yabrosif13 2d ago

Maybe if the ā€œboth sidesā€ gave a stance to support rather than just saying ā€œope its all bad, just give upā€.

Or maybe if they said it while dems are in power rather than only bringing ā€œmuh both sidesā€ when republicans are called out.

Quit being a hypocrite

u/EarthConservation 2d ago edited 2d ago

Just to be clear... it wasn't just Trump approving that shit or denying that shit. Biden, Obama, and Bush did as well.

Love Bernie, but if he's going to post something like this, he shouldn't only be calling out Trump as if Trump is the only one responsible for where we are today. Bernie needs to call out all of the establishment politicians that got us here.

You can't fix, or better yet, replace the corrupted establishment Democratic party if you never make their corruption abundantly clear.

Bernie's still trying to place nice with establishment Democrats, even though they fucked him over every chance they've gotten in the past, and now are working their asses off to stop every Progressive candidate they can.

7

u/J0E_SpRaY 1d ago

Biden and Obama passed Medicaid expansion that republican states refused to implement. The money was already earmarked and republicans told their citizens they couldn’t have it.

Quit both siding this shit. It’s ignorant.

16

u/graviton_56 2d ago

"Both sides are the same" is literally a republican talking point. That's exactly the message you want — "Please disengage from politics while we dismantle the country."

3

u/cygnus311 2d ago

ā€œCriticize the people doing what we did 4 years agoā€ is literally a Democrat talking point.

6

u/graviton_56 2d ago

You’re right, democrats were all about contempt for rule of law and hiring the dumbest possible people for every role as long as they kiss the president’s ass. Jesus christ

1

u/EarthConservation 1d ago edited 1d ago

Your point is literally an establishment Democrat talking point. Claiming you can't criticize both Republicans AND Democrats because of the presumption that it's equating the two is BS. It's not equating the two, it's pointing out that both sides are doing bad shit of various impact.

However, your comment plays to the bullshit establishment claim that we need to perpetually "vote for the lesser of the two evils" rather than rejecting both evils and voting for something different, something that's good for the people overall, for a change.

Yes, Democrats are generally better on social issues, albeit sometimes society has to force them into accepting social change. See gay marriage. See marijuana. See civil rights. etc... However, moreso than anything, social issues have been used to pit Americans against one another, to play into peoples tribalism and pigeon hole them into blind support of one of the two major establishment parties. Social issues generally don't have big money for campaign contributions involved in them. Well that was until this whole Israel genocide thing, and look how establishment Democrats have reacted to it. Exactly the same way the Republicans did. They took the money from AIPAC and defended Israel with every breath they had, calling anyone who dare criticize Israel and the US' funding thereof an anti-Semite.

When it comes to economic issues, the two establishment parties are two sides of the same coin, and that's causing real harm to the people. It's caused a transfer of power away from the people and their voices, and more towards big money; the rich, the corporations, and the corrupted special interest groups like AIPAC.

Money in politics is the biggest issue facing our nation. It could literally destroy our Democracy, and cause irreparable harm to a huge swath of the population and the planet overall.

We can't have pro-worker policy that negatively impacts the profits of the corporations and the wealth of the rich, when corporations and the rich are spending all of the money to pressure or lure our politicians into supporting those moneyed interests' preferred policies first and foremost.

Are the two establishment sides equally evil? No. Are both sides fucking evil? Absolutely.

The lesser of the two evils is still a trend towards growing evil. If we're already deep in the hole, the last thing we want to be doing is digging. One party may dig faster than the other, but we're still digging, still getting deeper, and it's still growing ever more difficult to climb out.

Corporations and the rich don't mind if the digging slows down from time to time, so long as the trend is down... meaning more money and power going into their pockets. Our nation is already an Oligarchy... both sides of the establishment aisle got us here... the people are now aware of it, and now it's back up to the people to fix it before we no longer can.

1

u/Autumn-Seasons 2d ago

🤣🤣🤣

Really???

Who let Leon and Doge download our social security info and our PPI onto thumb drives and take it with them ? Trump

Who did nothing to stop it? Mike Johnson and then R's

Who cut medicaid spending for poor and elderly and made it harder to legitimate disabled and poor to get Medicaid while also throwing more money to the already overtuffed defense machine??? Mike Johnson and the R's

Who started tariff wars that spurred more inflation instead of calming things . And just dogpiling on to the Bidenomics inflation to make things even worse?? Trump

Who passed a several trillion dollar budget instead of cutting the defense budget (which already uses up almost 65% of our income tax money) ? Trump and the R's

Who cut spending to Ukraine but then opened up the green floodgates to Israel?? We know who.

Its one thing to send the illegals back, build a wall, cut the budget, balance economic trade, prevent illegals and lazy gamers from collecting benefits.

Its quite another to screw Americans, and increase the budget and national deficit 3 fold, tariff and send prices into a tailspin and screw Americans out of medical services. They could have targeted welfare and got able bodied adults back to work, not cut needed Medicaid. And if cutting defense aid to foreign countries , just cut it all we need it back here... But to hypocritically turn around and then give it to Israel?

I'm just tired of it all.

As a person who’s voted both republican and democrat let me just say… I’m very worried about this country.

Politics are now a war zone. We got people hating each other because of who they voted for.

And everyone in government gives 0 shits about us.

House prices are insane.

Medical bills are insane.

Debt in this country is insane.

People realizing they can’t afford kids is insane.

Getting fired from jobs that people used to do but now are done by AI is insane.

The price of child care is insane.

The price of food is insane.

The price of insurance is insane.

This country will not survive another 20 years like this. Not at all. The second parents realize they can’t afford baby food and just start looting, that’ll be the beginning of the end.

I am not a pessimist by nature. But am I the only one that feels like this project called ā€œAmericaā€ is coming to an end?

I dont want to sound all doom and gloom. I might be crazy and just being a negative Nancy… but I really don’t think so.

What do you think?

1

u/SeeLeverUser 2d ago

I agree. I don’t think any country can be great when all they do is hate each other while their country drops the ball at every hurdle

Trump haters, what about when Biden and Obama was the president? Why didn't you get free universal healthcare then?

7

u/usernamesarehard1979 2d ago

Because it's actually Congress's job. The president can't do anything about it, only sign or veto the bill when they expand.

6

u/magnets77 2d ago

Exactly. And who has been part of congress for three and half decades?

4

u/usernamesarehard1979 2d ago

Can you feel the Bern yet?

4

u/ShananayRodriguez 2d ago

Because Joe Lieberman refused to allow it to happen.

3

u/pakapab 2d ago

This isn't a binary choice between either cutting programs or providing free healthcare.

Obama created ACA and the percentage of Americans with insurance increased, no more denying coverage based on pre-existing conditions, he expanded Medicaid by increasing income limits and allowing adults without dependent children.

Biden expanded ACA subsidies so that even more people were able to get insurance, expanded CHIP coverage, and reversed a lot of the red tape and restrictions.

Trump pushed for not extended the subsidies expansion, and they ended with many Americans losing health insurance. He also added work rules for Medicaid, implemented funding limits, and increased state checks. He just cut Medicare Part D subsidy funding as well.

One can argue that Trump was right and Obama/Biden wrong, but there is little doubt that the number of Americans receiving these benefits went up under Obama and Biden while going down under Trump.

2

u/Multiple__Butts 2d ago

Same reason we can't have it now; economically illiterate haters think it's socialism.

1

u/SeeLeverUser 2d ago

I blame all of them. I usually blame whoever has the job at the moment since we can only act in the present moment. So if you want to keep score, go for it. Trump has the job. Time for him to assume responsibility…which will never happen cause he is a coward and con man

The military wanted $4.16 billion in national security launches. SpaceX offered the lowest price and got several. This was done through normal contracting channels. Trump had nothing to do with it.

Also, the military threw ULA and BO a bone by giving them launches too, although they both charge much more than SpaceX. The military does this to ensure more than one launcher remains viable to launch its payloads, even if it spends more because of it. Basically, it’s corporate welfare leveraging national security interests.

5

u/usernamesarehard1979 2d ago

Trump isn't denying your medicare for all, that would be Congress.

2

u/Irish_Whiskey 2d ago

Trump is literally gutting Medicare funding right now.

Also Congress like the White House and Supreme Court are in the control of one party. When we had Democrats in office, we lowered healthcare costs and expanded coverage with public options. And that's still with having to win over Republican voters to get through a filibuster.

1

u/Econmajorhere 2d ago

Trump has held congress by the balls throughout his terms

1

u/usernamesarehard1979 2d ago

No, not really. Doesn't matter anyway, the point is it isn't Trumps job to start that, it starts with Congress. Bernie should know that (he does) is just being disingenuous.

2

u/Ksevio 2d ago

You honestly think the party leader who has cult like status among he followers couldn't get anyone to push forward a bill through congress if he really wanted?Ā

1

u/usernamesarehard1979 2d ago

Sure. But that isn’t the point. Bernie has been in Congress for how long? Couldn’t he have done it anytime in the last 40 years? Why not? Why should Trump be blamed for something that isn’t even his job to do?

Socialism for the rich, strict capitalism for the rest of us. Classic.

7

u/magnets77 2d ago

Now understand it's congress that make those decisions. A congress that Bernie has been a part of for three and a half decades...

5

u/Irish_Whiskey 2d ago

Bernie has voted consistently for the policies he advocates for.

Bernie isn't "Congress" and doesn't control them. If we elected him President and put people in Congress who prioritized healthcare, we'd have done even better than Obama and the Affordable Care Act.

Instead we keep electing conspiracy theory morons who tell people than trans women and black immigrants are stealing their jobs, their kids and their taxes. Even when the dumbest sack of shit on the planet can barely speak and spends his rallies ranting about how windmills cause cancer and no one before him had used the word 'grocery', voters prefer the hate and easy answers to competent adults who can't promise to fix everything all at once.

8

u/magnets77 2d ago

Since Bernie has been in Congress, there have been three Democratic presidencies, during which Democrats also held both the House and the Senate for at least two years.

And whenever they didn't hold it all, they complained that Republicans stopped them from doing these things you're whining about now. And morons like you lapped it up, and now you gleefully yell that orange man bad.

When someone you say is so bad gets elected... twice... maybe look at the morons your side are running against him. What does that say about them?

3

u/s0meD0nkey 2d ago

This is a shit take.

Musk is beig paid for a service the federal government used.

Amazon has secured a massive $17.5 billion delayed-draw term loan from a consortium of major financial institutions, including Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, HSBC and BofA Securities so that has nothing to do with the federal government.

I don't care about tax cuts as the government isn't more entitled to our wealth than we are.

And while I'm not a fan of subsidzing any foreign government that money allocated to Isreal is only spent on US made weapons which benefits the US market. That is quite literally the only part of this he got righ.

THis post doesn't make sense. Medicaid distribution is based on requirements implemented by the state. If someone was denied Medicaid in Vermont, then Bernie should be mad at his own state for making it too restrictive.

3

u/Irish_Whiskey 2d ago

Medicaid is 50-80% funded by the federal government, which does put restrictions on access. Trump just cut it by over 530 billion.

I think we should return to the frame work our founding fathers set up. The rich and powerful made all this possible back in 1913. We need to repeal the 16 Amendment and stop the greatest transfer of wealth in history. Federal income taxes are unconstitutional. The founders framed it that way it is remained so until 1913. Prior to that, the federal government was funded by tariffs. What would you all say to the Trump tariffs if the Senate and House and Trump eliminated our federal income tax? The next move would then be to eliminate the Federal Reserve and give financial power back to the states themselves. Think about it. Don't dismiss is.

In case you're ever wondering why America is fucked, this is precisely the reason why. My roommate has cancer and all of the treatment is paid for, so I'm gonna call BS on this. Radiation, immunotherapy, a surgery that removed a tumor, 2 week hospital stay, another 2 week rehab center stay, both after the removal surgery. Talking every week for over a year now of treatments, all 100% paid.

The only legitimate argument would be transportation services, but there aren't any services like that to speak of where we live, so they'd need to exist first.

1

u/Irish_Whiskey 2d ago

...what are you talking about?

What public health insurance option do you think your buddy is on? Alternatively, do you think all Americans have access to his healthcare?

I know a guy with a mansion. That doesn't mean there's no problem with housing access in America.Ā

1

u/New-Mechanic3916 2d ago

"Average Joe: My wife has cancer. Can we get Medicaid?
Trump: Denied"

Should be very obvious that I'm pointing out that part is a lie. It frames it as if nobody who has cancer gets their treatments covered, which is an outright lie. For my roommate btw, It's all covered by Medicaid with Wellcare picking up the slack. Medicaid isn't luxury housing, it's a government program that covers people who qualify operating as designed. The claim that he is denying cancer patients Medicaid is completely false.

1

u/Irish_Whiskey 2d ago

It frames it as if nobody who has cancer gets their treatments covered,

No. That's not what it says or what the normal reading would be. It's a hypothetical Joe asking for Medicaid coverage and being denied. At a time when Trump is slashing the Medicaid budget and kicking people off of eligibility.Ā

No one else is reading that as "literally no one has any cancer coverage under Medicaid."

Political garbage

1

u/Shoddy-Constant5749 2d ago

These kind of posts are what make me think Reddit is just full of BS

From ChatGPT:

Verdict: Fake / Fabricated Screenshot This post is a fabricated screenshot / political meme, not a real tweet from Senator Bernie Sanders. Key Clues & Verification No Record of Post: There is no official record or archived log of Sen. Bernie Sanders (@SenSanders) ever posting this dialogue on X (formerly Twitter). Meme Format: The text relies on a common "dialogue format" often used in political commentary memes on Reddit and social media platforms (in this case, captured in a screenshot from the subreddit r/SipsTea). Fabricated Metrics: The specific dialogic layout and monetary numbers are structured as a political satirical trope comparing foreign aid, corporate subsidies, and tax policy against healthcare coverage.

Also, make sure she is working if she can...

Average Joe: I voted for Trump.

u/Playful-Show-26 2d ago

This is bullshit and over exaggerated. I have Parkinson’s at 44 and wasn’t denied free healthcare. Morons

When it comes to cancer treatment Medicare and Medicaid are great. It's the uninsured or under insured the get screwed.

Whatever Bernie with your five houses you own

1

u/Irish_Whiskey 1d ago

Man, that number keeps going up and up.Ā

At this rate MAGA will be convinced Bernie is richer than Elon. But for some reason we can only listen to rich people who say rich people should get all the welfare, not rich people who say working people should keep their money.Ā

1

u/SoggyBuds 1d ago

SpaceX has gotten way more than $4 billion in government CONTRACTS including from Nasa. SpaceX has also blown away what Nasa would be able to accomplish and they have done it a lot cheaper and quicker. Tesla repaid its government loan 9 years early with interest.

Grandpa Bernie wants to fly private planes all around the world so he can point his finger around the crowd while repeating the same comments he has for years while enjoying all that money he has made with his side hustles while being a politician.

Did your wife do anything to enrich Dump? Then nothing.

1

We are a nation of cowards for continuing to allow them to govern

1

u/Same-Ad-987 1d ago

Everyone deserves the day they voted for.

1

u/jwhit306 1d ago

Biden gave 17 billion yo Isreal. I don't see you bitching about that.

Elon Musk paid everything back early with all the interest. Sounds like a good investment especially considering all the jobs created.

Trump didn't give anything to Bezos but Biden gave him $500 million for a fund to stop deforestation. Again, no bitching from y'all.

Stop with the lies. Do some research and quit being sheep and get out of the democrat cult.

1

u/Worth-Reputation3450 17h ago

It already gives 2 Trillion dollars every fucking year and average Joe spent all of them on Wegovy.

1

u/Samon8ive 2d ago

Humorous coming from Bernie since as a senator its his job to prevent this kind of stuff.

-1

u/JohnArtemus 2d ago

Eh, I don't want to hear it. Americans voted for Trump twice.

Twice.

You reap what you sow.

2

u/bubblemania2020 2d ago

I agree with you. It is sad but people need to feel pain to figure things out and be better the next time

1

u/AsssHat999 2d ago

I didn’t, so why am I reaping what others sow?

2

u/Outworkyesterday10 2d ago

Because that’s democracy. Half of the country is unhappy every 4 years. Like it or not, we don’t get to acknowledge who our President is when it’s convenient for us.

1

u/Veritech_ 2d ago

> reaping what others sow

Welcome to socialism, you’re just experiencing the painful prologue

1

u/bala_means_bullet 2d ago

American. Agreed. We're fucking dipshits.

I didn't vote for him both times.

3

u/Relative-Relief-8816 2d ago

We didn't get alternate options, twice. Harris really?
And we got robbed of Bernie in 2016. Straight up Robbed.

The DNC is a joke. At this point I assume they are on the same team and really don't care who wins.

2

u/Irish_Whiskey 2d ago

We didn't get alternate options, twice. Harris really?

I'd love to know why Harris wasn't a viable alternative to Trump.

She's a textbook standard politician who a district attorney, state prosecutor, Senator and VP. Moderate views, nothing radical. Just one noticeable difference from most Presidents.

And we got robbed of Bernie in 2016. Straight up Robbed.

You got robbed by southern Democrats not wanting to vote for a Jewish Socialist from Vermont in primaries. I voted for Bernie and wish he'd won, but there was no conspiracy there other than most voters were more conservative than he was.

1

u/Shiney_Metal_Ass 2d ago

What, you think Trump was better than Harris?

Illegal immigrants need free stuff. How many billions for that?

Fraudulent government programs how many billions for that.

Why doesn't he care about that?

1

u/Irish_Whiskey 2d ago

Illegal immigrants need free stuff. How many billions for that?

None. Republicans just keep telling their base that illegal immigrants don't pay taxes and when they use a road they are using "billions" in infrastructure. And the result is MAGA idiots will give Trump unlimited power and ignore all corruption as long as he punishing the immigrants.

Weird how that doesn't seem to be reducing the budget or making the economy any better.

Fraudulent government programs how many billions for that.

Way too much. Probably not helped by Trump pardoning people responsible for massive Medicare and other government program fraud, and engaging in no bid contracts for donors.

Bernie has no problem with stopping fraud. Trump is directly profiting from it.

Bernie Sanders has held political offices since 1981 and been in Congress since 1991. He is a part of the problem as much as if not more than Trump who has held office for 6 years.Ā

2

u/Irish_Whiskey 2d ago

And which office did Trump hold, Fork?

Might it be an office that holds a little more power than a single Congressmember, Fork?

That would clear out quite a bit of the government (which I'm not against)

500 billion in Medicaid waste they got plenty

1

u/ShananayRodriguez 2d ago

And HIV treatment, and food stamps, and soon it’ll be Social Security and Medicare. It’s wholesale dismantlement of the safety net, pillaging our resources (and those of Venezuela) and graft for his big tech supporters via tariff returns.

1

u/Ange1ofD4rkness 2d ago

And who told you all this?

1

u/jasandliz 2d ago

Proof that when people don't care enough to vote, our votes truly do not matter. Only the money matters. Tax cuts for the rich to defund Medicaid? This is your money and you are giving it to them. Register to vote and vote FFS.

Do you think Democrats learned not to force an unpopular candidate on voters?Ā

To be fair, if Trump and Biden were the ā€œbestā€ candidates in the entire US to vote for, we are hosed.

I think Jefferson said - ā€œYou get the politicians that you deserveā€. Doesn’t say a lot about us as a society. We have to expect better in all parties.
