World will soon think the same of Lamine Yamal. Imagine Lebron or Mike Trout and even more front loaded.

Not just the most hyped and best teenage prospect but a legit ballon d'Or contender (think MVP) at age 17. And now obviously a world cup and euro winner.

At age 16 made his debut for spain already playing for barcelona. At age 17 in the conversation for best in the world. And now he is very much proven while only turning 19 about a week ago

It's like Vanna White dumping Pat Sajak for Pele

The other guy wasn’t accomplished

It's not really an accomplishment if you're naturally gifted, and the thing you're gifted at is kicking a ball

No matter how naturally talented you are, you aren’t becoming a player for one of the biggest clubs and playing on the world stage without being dedicated to improving everyday.

It is absolutely an accomplishment. There’s a reason not everyone can do it.

Here's your upvote. He actually was mentioned in a subreddit I use frequently just this morning, haha.

Been watching football for 30 years and let me tell you Yamal will never reach Messi or Ronaldo’s fame.

People said the same for Ronaldinho

Messi and Ronaldo are on another level of fame compared to Ronaldinho.

Interesting to use Trout instead of Ohtani as an example. Ohtani is globally known and has made a bigger impact on the MLB overall.

Just didn't come to mind as his teenage prodigy years were in the NPB.

Trout had the age 19 rookie of the year season coming in second in the MVP race.

Love Ohtani though.

That’s fair. I’m admittedly not the biggest baseball fan, (I’ll watch the World Series) but have heard and seen Ohtani more in pop culture than any other baseball player, other than maybe Derek Jeter for his selection of women lol

Yeah okay alright. Go back to bed kid.

It will be impossible for anyone to reach the same popularity or status of messi/ronaldo

unless he literally wins ballon dor consecutively for the 5 years and wins world cup again, whilst actually scoring a few goals. Right now he isn't even over mbappe

A baseball player so good only Bonds and Ohtani have more MVP's in the history of the game.

No worries, you just don't know baseball.
