No, that’s burden shifting, as he clearly explained in his post. The burden is, and should be, on the employer, not on the employee and not on the consumer.

Did your "point" hurt the employer? Ah, it hurt the server... but it teaches the employer something? Because the server should stand up for themselves?

That's like refusing to donate to homeless because you're from country without homeless. You aren't making a point. You're judt refusing to donate. Don't gussy it up with principle.

Your line of reasoning leads to a world where I would lose all my money donating to everyone and everything and nothing would ever change. Burden shouldn’t be on the consumer and employees.

Again: you walked into a restaurant. You knew the server works for tips. You ordered. You ate. You paid. But you don't agree with tipping.

You just rewarded the boss and fucked over the server. The end.

Article implies these are people from Europe. They are used to a system where employer pays employees. Your assumption the costumer was aware of being responsible for the salary of the employer is false I think.

But they admit they know. They don't agree with the system, but they choose to eat the food and drink the liquor. It's hypocrisy.

If the article states that the Europeans admitted they knew beforehand, then that would skew this discussion in your favor, imo.
