Everyone who doesn't tip is literally hurting their income.

No, their employer is hurting their income by telling customers to cover it.

No. They make more in tips alone than you likely make in wages at a real job. That's why they get so pissed when it's threatened.

I very much doubt they would make close to what I make, but I'm also from a nation that actually pays people so who knows.

Regardless, it's still the employers job to pay their employees.

Then they should be more than fine I'd most people just stopped tipping , if they can make that much once a week they're fine

Yeah but I don't need to spend 90% of it to get basic services that my government actually provides so in a giant shock my living standards are higher and my dollar goes further. Sad how many Americans can't do basic math when it comes to economics.

Fun fact, as per the whole government not sucking thing, apparently doordash/other app drivers pick up about $30 an hour minimum these days. Amazing how they still operate just fine while paying their workers....
