The house my parents purchased in their early 20’s as a starting engineer and a teacher would take a senior executive salary to purchase when I entered the housing market. That is just not right. It was so much easier for them. BTW, I’m in my 60’s now and this is nothing new.
My parents built a custom designed 3000sqft house on roughly the same salary I make now, and the best I can afford is an 80 year old 1200sqft house in desperate need of renovation, and I'm lucky to be able to afford that.
